What the fans watching in the stands and on TV that night didn't get to see was all the extremely hard work and hours and hours of practice Duffy had to put in to get this trick done. This wave is no joke, and Red Bull Cape Fear 2016 demonstrated exactly that. The wave breaks dangerously close to a jagged rock shelf, in nothing more than a few feet of water. Once you make the drop, ollie down some of the step downs, and navigate the backwach, the slab opens itself up for the most committed surfers to try and get barreled out of their mind. Take a look back at some of the heaviest wipeouts from the event - fortunately, no-one was seriously injured.
