The extreme enduro circus moved to Tuscany for the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship 2022's Round 4, Abestone Hard Enduro. The training session of the Red Bull Abestone 2022 was as hard as the main race's itself and in the given time all riders tested their settings and skillets. We were back at racing at the FIM’s Hard Enduro World Championship with Round 4, Red Bull Abestone, in Tuscany. This was the second ever addition at the gnarly ski resort of Abetone and it was bound to be hard as hell with the technical rocky sections. Racing weekend started with Saturday’s Straight Rhythm qualifier and Billy Bolt was the man to secure the lead starting position for the main race. Alfredo Gomez came in P2 and Manuel Lattenbichler P3. Billy Bolt flagged away to open the track and lead the pack on Sunday. There were 30 seconds in between top starters but when it’s the hard enduro it is not a big one. Manuel Lettenbichler got passed Alfredo and Billy before the mid first lap and from then on, the German rode his pace without making any mistakes and even pushing when he felt it needed. He got his third win in a row which was beyond expectations even for him. Billy Bolt lost the contact right after Mani’s got passed him and tried to stick on the position with a sore wrist. The Brit brought the P2 Podium home safe and kept the chin up. For the third podium place the battle was fierce. After the qualifying disaster, Mario Roman had to start far behind the leading group, P13. The Spaniard however, got a good rhythm and recovered all the way up to P3. FIM’s World Hard Enduro Championship 2021 season Rd 3 Abestone Hard Enduro took place in the beautiful Italian ski resort Abetone, 9-11 July 2021. With all the world’s best extreme enduro riders’ appearance this first ever Abestone edition was a hit. Race weekend started with free practice and time practice on Friday. Then we jumped into the Saturday’s special tests where the riders to take 3 tests and get the best possible time for Sunday’s starting order. After Saturday’s special tests the top 50 qualified for the Super Final on Sunday. The rest of the riders to compete the Mitas Final in the morning where they had to ride 2h plus 1 lap through a 7KM lap. The event was fairly easier and started at 08:00 am. The action at the FIM’s World Hard Enduro Championship 2021 season resumed with the debut edition of Abestone Hard Enduro 2021. Normally planned to be the third round, the race became first to collect championship points after chaotic last minute Lagares failure and cancellation of Red Bull Erzbergrodeo. In the end championship organizers put great effort and took everyone back to good old racing. After Day 1's Time Practice and Day 2's Enduro tests the fastest 50 qualified for the Super Final on Day 3. Day 3’s main event, Super Final, started on 14:00 and all 50 riders to take a 15KM lap twice at the breath taking Abetone Ski Resort. It was expected to be completed within 3 hours window for the fastest but it turned out to be faster than that. With a variety of different technical sectors in it the Super Final held great many challenges to the riders. Billy Bolt had a lightning speed into the day and took the early lead. With constant pressure from Mani the two stretched their lead against the rest and created their individual battle. The lead went back and forth between the two throughout the course. In the end of the day it was Rockstar Husqvarna’s Billy Bolt who reached the chequered flag first and made history for Abestone Hardenduro. KTM Factory rider Manuel Lettenbichler came in P2 by just falling 41 seconds behind. The last step of the debut podium for Abestone was claimed by Graham Jarvis of Rockstar Husqvarna.
