Description: We were back at racing at the FIM’s Hard Enduro World Championship with Round 4, Red Bull Abestone, in Tuscany. This was the second ever addition at the gnarly ski resort of Abetone and it was bound to be hard as hell with the technical rocky sections. Racing weekend started with Saturday’s Straight Rhythm qualifier and Billy Bolt was the man to secure the lead starting position for the main race. Alfredo Gomez came in P2 and Manuel Lattenbichler P3. Billy Bolt flagged away to open the track and lead the pack on Sunday. There were 30 seconds in between top starters but when it’s the hard enduro it is not a big one. Manuel Lettenbichler got passed Alfredo and Billy before the mid first lap and from then on, the German rode his pace without making any mistakes and even pushing when he felt it needed. He got his third win in a row which was beyond expectations even for him. Billy Bolt lost the contact right after Mani’s got passed him and tried to stick on the position with a sore wrist. The Brit brought the P2 Podium home safe and kept the chin up. For the third podium place the battle was fierce. After the qualifying disaster, Mario Roman had to start far behind the leading group, P13. The Spaniard however, got a good rhythm and recovered all the way up to P3.
