In this video I take you through the skills you'll need to progress your snowboarding from hitting boxes to trying your first rail features. You should make sure that you are comfortable hitting a wide variety of box features before trying your first rails to make the progression easier and minimize the risk of falling. You'll want to take time to figure out the proper speed for the feature, approach like a 50-50 with your trajectory aiming towards the end of the rail, and try to catch the rail with your snowboard to help lock onto the feature and slide all the way to the end. Start on larger tubes that are lower to the snow if you mountain has those available, and work your way up to skinnier features that require a larger ollie and more speed to get on to. I hope these tips help you to hit your first rail features and start a whole new curve of progression! Let me know any questions you have in the comments below, thanks for watching.
