Description: Welcome to my #Athlete Vlog Journey! This is My Experience at the USBC Open Championships 2021, A.K.A. USBC Nationals. Alright, so I had to stop recording because an official from the usbc came to my lanes and ordered me to turn off the camera. Apparently, no one was allowed to record any videos during this tournament, which is nonsense to me because by the time I was bowling on July 14, there were a lot of videos about this year's USBC Nationals on YouTube. I asked the usbc official about why they allowed these other bowlers to record videos, and he said that he didn't know about the others. Anyways, I just figured that the others just recorded their videos while no one was watching. DAY 1: Ok, the first day was team events, we bowled at the South Point Bowling Stadium, which fun fact, I believe are the most difficult lanes I have ever bowled on, but I have my first ever sanctioned 800 on those lanes. Anyhow, we bowled 3 games on the same pair, and this year's team event we had only one team of 5 in the same pair during all 3 games. To those of you who are always wondering about the oil pattern, it was a reversed block with 38 feet according to my teammates. Which I didn't know until after the event was over For warm-up, we only had a few minutes, from which I only threw like 7 shots. As you probably noticed, I struggled way too much at the beginning. The lanes had a very aggressive reaction as soon as the ball hit the dry areas. But, it was only if I exit the ball around the 12 board. If my ball got to the 9 board or right of it, it just went out and never came back. On top of everything, the middle was very dry, so it was very challenging to me to get the ball far out to the 10th board without hitting the dry in the middle part of the lane. I also noticed that I had to move left every 4 to 5 shots because the middle was drying out super fast. I was able to shoot 197, 169, and 232 to close the team events. I must admit that I wasn't happy with my performance that day, but that's just another reminder that I need to practice more. DAY 2: Moving on to day 2, we had singles and doubles events. We bowled on the other bowling alley inside the South Point, which is the plaza. On these lanes, it was kind of interesting because the reaction off the dry was even stronger than the previous day. So, I had to go to my weakest bowling ball again, which was the Venom Recoil, and adjust my release to a more forward roll to have a more controllable reaction. I had to get the ball far out to the 8th board at the exit, which was around the 38th feet. That gave me the best angle of entry to the pocket and paid off very well...for the first 2 games. I shot 233, and 266 with 11 strikes on that second game... then things just got weird. I had to start moving in but this time when I got the ball to the exit I wanted, it wasn't coming back. And if I came back to where I was before, I would hit the headpin. And this is what's so hard about bowling, we can't really see where the oil is on the lanes. So, I started to make very small adjustments and I would hit the pocket almost every shot, but I wasn't carrying the 10 pins. I changed to the next ball in my arsenal and got it to the right exit and it just wouldn't come back. That's when I noticed the lanes became super wet-dry, but the oil moved far out towards the pins. I switched balls again and went to my trend and I was getting the ball out to the exit point and it came back at a very high angle so I wasn't really hitting the pocket. By game 5, I was getting 2-10's no matter what I tried. So, I tried again with my Venom Recoil but this time increasing my speed while decreasing my angles and I came back to the pocket, however I wasn't getting the breaks I needed and it was too late in game 6. Overall I shot 181, 194, 156, and 166, to finish with a 1794 series for all events... ????Other Cool Videos: ⏩PBA Bowlers Backswing (Analyze the Pros): https://youtu.be/3NvqdmpBzbQ ⏩All Bowling Styles at the PBA World Series of Bowling 2020 (RAW FOOTAGE): https://youtu.be/49D72h3vyeY ????Please hit the like button if you liked the video. ????SUBSCRIBE to our channel and be the first to watch our new videos! @Athletic Bowling Would you like to support my cause? ????
