After three days of racing, we finally reached to the last day at the 2nd round of FIM World Hard Enduro Championship 2022 Season, Xross Hard Enduro Rally. Riders fought back and forth starting from Straight Rhythm Prologue and through Offroad Day 1-2. Manuel Lettenbichler was the one on top of the leader board with a comfortable gap, +8m, and all he had to is to stick to his pace one more day. The German admitted that he came here without any expectation but after Day 2 he found himself leading and that changed the mood. Letti had yet another great riding without any trouble and crowned his comeback with a victory. Theodor Kabakchiev proved himself to be a serious contender to the factory riders and got a stunning podium appearance with a P2. Young Bulgarian now sits in P3 at the championship standings after a P6 at Rd1 Minus 400 and a P2 here in Serbia, 27Pts. 47 years old GOAT Graham Jarvis was the one who completed the podium. Coming back from a major knee injury and becoming a privateer, the Brit still has it and he now leads the WHEC standing with Billy Bolt, 30 Pts each. Xross was also the 1st round of the newly announced integrated World Hard Enduro Junior Championship. South African Matt Green was the one who topped the points at the first round with an overall P10. He was followed by Britain’s Mitch Brightmore, P14, and Israel’s Suff Sella, P15. On Offroad Day 2 at the Xross Hard Enduro Rally riders again had a 100km route to cover in pursuit of their fortune at the FIM World Hard Enduro Championship 2022 season. The course had three different specials for the day and as to the post-race rider comments the first half of the day war more extreme than the second. Defending WHEC champion and the current leader from the Offroad Day 1, Billy Bolt struggled a lot. Early in the stage he broke his clutch master cylinder and had to ride using all four fingers till the service point. Brit then fixed the issue but then admitted he had nothing left when he reached to the last technical sector and couldn’t push further. He finished P7 with falling 26 minutes behind the day’s winner, Manuel Lettenbichler. Mani had and excellent day after having P4 at Offroad Day 1 and showed some muscle. The German felt great on the bike than he expected and kept pushing further till the end. He was followed by Theodor Kabakchiev who had yet another blistering day among the factory guys. It was Sherco’s Wade Young who completed the top 3 for the day. South African’s fight with his back pain continued and had to spent too much time sitting on the bike which still was not enough to keep him not having the fun. He was happy with the result and carried the hope to Offroad Day 3. The action at the FIM World Hard Enduro Championship moved to Serbia for the Rd 2 Xross Hard Enduro Rally and all the eyes were on Manuel Lettenbichler as the German made his comeback after recovery from the injury. After Day 1’s Straight Rhythm prologue riders lined up for the real deal on Offroad Day 1 where a 100km single track laid through Tara Mountain. Round 1 Minus 400 Desert Extreme winner and championship leader Mario Roman had a bad day of racing due to an early crash he had which then turned out that he broke his toe. The Spaniard kept continuing and did his best and finished the day with P7, ahead of his team mate Wade Young. WHEC title defender Billy Bolt rode with a great pace and grouped with Mani from time to time, finished the day on top. Theodor Kabakchiev was on fire through the day and enjoyed his pace as the Bulgarian played catch with the leading group and hanged there. Theodor finished the day with P2 ahead of the Day’s other surprise Michael Walkner, P3.
