The year is 2013, and X Games has gone global. Starting in January, X Games started in Aspen before heading to France, Spain and Germany in the spring and summer. And along the way, we picked up some new disciplines, including Mountain Bike Slopestyle in Munich, Germany. So we invited some of the top riders from across the globe and built a purpose-built course for MTB Slopestyle at Munich's Olympic Park. X Games 14 went down July 31 to August 3 in 2008. Throughout the greater Los Angeles area, from Staples Center to Home Depot Center, X Games brought the world’s best action sports athletes to the forefront of ESPN. New tricks were landed, new gold medals were handed out, and along the way, the week was riddled with stomps and slams of all types. Here, we take a look back at the 2008 Slammed, Stomped show, featuring Jamie Bestwick’s gold medal winning BMX Vert run, plus an array of slams from Skateboard and BMX Vert, Ryan Sheckler’s gold medal winning highlights from Skateboard Street, Skateboard Park Legends with Mike McGill and Tony Magnusson, SuperPark slam sessions, the return of Danny Way to Skateboard Big Air, Kyle Loza and the electric doom at Moto X Best Trick, plus Travis Pastrana’s gold medal win at RallyCross at Home Depot Center. Moto X debuted at X Games in 1999, and this show chronicles the best motorcycle action from the first 10 years. It includes the greatest hits from the golden age of moto: 15-year-old Travis Pastrana winning the inaugural X Games Freestyle contest, Brian Deegan and the Metal Mulisha wreaking havoc, Mike Metzger blowing minds with back-to-back backflips. It’s all here, from the first 360s and body varials to one of the crowning moments of X Games — Pastrana’s legendary double backflip in 2006. Some of history’s top racers are highlighted, too.
