The British driver, after dominating the qualifying heats with five wins out of five races, wins the pre-final and secures second position for the final. The European champion remains behind James Egozi (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) for two laps, then takes the lead and stays there until the end. Egozi prefers to control the race and, with second place, secures the WSK Open Cup title. A good growth this season for the American, making his debut this year in the OKJ category. Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin Motorsport – Parolin – TM Racing) ends not far from Slater and Egozi, third. The Russian driver starts from sixth position on the starting grid and makes his way over his rivals. Harley Keeble (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) ends the weekend in fourth position and is second in the championship, with Slater behind him in third position. The winner of the opening race in Lonato, the Brit Joe Turney (Tony Kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex) had to retire just after the start. An unlucky incident early into the Final forced the organizers to stop the race for a long time. Three drivers of team KR Motorsport were involved: Czech Republic’s Eliska Babickova, the Italian Nicola Lacorte and Malta’s Zachary David. Promptly helped, Babickova and Lacorte were taken to the Hospital of Padova for medical checks, while David injured his ankle. When the race could restart, the Pole Tymoteusz Kucharczyk won the Final, while the British driver Arvid Lindblad was involved in an incident in the closing stages when he was second. The second place went therefore to Cristian Bertuca (BirelART/BirelART-TM Racing), while the Finn Tuukka Taponen (Tony kart Racing Team/Tony Kart-Vortex) ended third and secured the title. Nicola Lacorte (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME), 28th at that time, spins at turn 4 and ends up in the other lane, more precisely in turn 7. In the meantime, the group fighting for seventh position arrives and Eliska Babickova (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME) hits the back of the Italian driver’s kart.
