This is a new version of the original Orca created by Lib Tech and Travis Rice. My impression of this board are that it will be more freestyle focused with a more twin shape with less taper and more tail. I'm going to test out the Golden Orca in some powder conditions on Whistler peak and also find a few small drops to send it off of. It's been snowing consistently here dropping tons of light snow on the mountain. The upper areas of the mountain have been closed for snowboarding the last few days and this is the first time being able to access some of the best areas. I'm up snowboarding today with my friends Brent and Andreas who are are both riding Orcas. In this video we also give some advice on how to snowboard through trees and powder better. The chairlift that usually runs in this area is closed, so we're forced to hike. We've brought up our avalanche gear to help keep us safe while snowboarding in these out of bounds areas and we're also testing our gear. The powder snowboard I'm riding today is the Jones Ultra Mind expander, which is my first day riding this board. In the end I think we found the best place to snowboard on the mountain. Best powder run of the season snowboarding on Whistler mountain. Rode the peak chair to the top of the mountain and traversed over to Christmas trees.
