This armor is NOT made to stop rifle rounds, it is rated to stop up to .357Sig and .44mag pistol rounds.  I am amazed by how much these cloth panels will deform metal bullets.

As a side note, some people think that silencers/suppressors slow the bullet down, but with a good suppressor, they actually speed them up a little bit, improving penetration.

		Will a .50BMG Pierce the AR500 Armor Plate?

This is a regular FMJ lead bullet, not a steel core armor piercing round.  The AR500 plate is 1/4&#34; thick and rated to stop up to 7.62x51 /.308Winchester.  This is Level III armor.  The smaller hole is from a previous video, and was made by a .308 Armor Piercing round.
