We HATE seeing these things happen to beautiful cars, and that’s just what went down at Streetcar Takeover Indy. This badass big turbo LSx Fox lined with the that rear wheel drive Eagle Talon you saw on our channel and the outcome is nothing short of terrible. We’re glad to report the driver is ok, but the car obviously needs some paint and body work…maybe even some chassis repair. Rick is no stranger to Drag Week, but what’s cool is that not only has he built one, but now TWO badass twin turbo big block monsters to compete at Drag Week! When we met Rick, he had this same motor in his wagon and has since transplanted it into his 1990 RX-7 painted bright green. Pushing this RX-7 down the track is a 450 cubin inch big block Chevy motor with two 75mm turbochargers feeding it. This thing caught our attention immediately! (Forgive the re-upload due to a video glitch) Talk about a unique setup - this Datsun with a Mazda 13B Rotary engine has a 75mm turbo bolted to it! Not only that, our eyes started burning once we got near this thing because it’s powered by ALCOHOL! Doesn’t get much sweeter than this! These guys were looking for a 7, but still accomplished a lot by going deep into the 8’s and picking up a best on the car. The GIANT tire on the back tells you this thing is serious, and you know it when you can feel it in your chest when it does a giant burnout! This pass was a complete bummer all the way around. Mike Brown in the Turbo Firebird -vs- Heath Littrell in the ProCharged Hemi Nova. The Firebird gets loose just past the finish and impacts the wall HARD sending the car into the path of the Nova which had no where else to go and ended up into the wall. Mike left with some injuries but is in good spirits and doing well. Big bummer for the Nova was it was just revamped and it was one of the first passes on the car.
