A special lighting technique and advanced production equipment were used to protect the grotto's composition and safeguard its unique beauty. Jeita Grotto's water temperature was not as cold as it used to be throughout the year, when it received an unusual visitor. It was not affected by Lebanon's winter storms or freezing weather, and its water became warm and stirred by Red Bull athlete Duncan Zuur's wakeboarding stunts. The three-day event hosted riders from eight different countries and showcased talent in Park, Boat, and Big Air. The camaraderie of the competitors only brought out the best in flips, tricks, and jam-packed action. In the end, a podium of riders would round off the world's best in wake. The Red Bull surf team's first aerial training session on the newly built skateboard bowl. Jordy Smith, Michel Bourez, Mick Fanning and Sally Fitzgibbons all tried adapting to the new board and skate deck - much different from a surf board and wave - and after a while it proved as a perfect training ground for aerials in the water. Borrowing training concepts first proto-typed by snowboarder Shaun White during "Project X", the best of the best, including two-time and reigning Men's World Champion Mick Fanning, Women's World Champion Sofia Mulanovich, Junior World Champions Julian Wilson and Sally Fitzgibbons, along with international stars Jordy Smith and Michel Bourez will be expanding, honing and refining their aerial repertoires with the assistance of professional coaches, pro skateboarders and the use of gymnastic facilities.
