Hank Kronk is a well known race week Veteran, and certainly no stranger to its grueling nature. Hank is the kind of racer that will pull over and ask how he can help if he see’s another racer on the side of the road, even knowing that it may add hours to the drive. The Kronk Racing fox body and trailer are a staple of race weeks and drag weeks because of this, but that doesn’t mean that Hank doesn’t encounter problems himself. In fact during this race week it seems he had more than his fair share of challenges, but they still didn’t stop him from completing the week. Rocky Mountain Race Week is a notoriously tough challenge, merited by a 1,000 miles+ journey across the midwest in a race car. Typically racers are only armed with a trailer, however these two radical rebels barely showed up with a running car! We could tell from day 1 that this ol’ four-eyed fox was going to be a car we needed to follow throughout the week. While we never want to see racers encounter issues or struggles, these two couldn’t have been happier regardless of what happened along the way. High horsepower street cars breed a competitive environment, which can sometimes transition to rather dramatic night events. Here we find ourselves at a night meet in Denver, CO, for a meet-up where some friendly internet trash talk led to a best 2 out of 3 race between a 1400hp Mustang and an 1100hp Evo. This blood red Nissan GT-R seemingly popped out of nowhere, transforming into the the KING of the Texas Streets overnight! While it’s hard to know how much power this street MONSTER is actually making, he’s not the first racer whom we’ve seen sandbag their numbers in lieu of the Texas hustle. Neither car gives entirely definitive numbers, but both are fast-approaching the realm of 2000HP which is absolutely insane to consider. The texas_killr_r35 may have more ponies on paper, the “Mud Truck” Viper is a wild ride of it’s own, with it’s n’th Moto built V10 and twin turbo setup. As the owner modestly states the viper “north of 1500(hp)”, it’s also being pushed through a manual gearbox which makes the Viper an ideal (and true) street car for many. Both racers are well versed with their cars on the streets, leading the suspense of this race down to a thrilling display of street car action! One of the largest events we cover all year and absolutely one of the the most culturally diverse as racers from all across the globe gathering to competing on Jason Miller’s world class track prep and under the best racing conditions of the year. World Cup Finals is an absolute MUST for anyone who appreciates high intensity racing of all types and kinds, as the event creates a competitive battleground for imports and domestics of any caliber to see who has what it takes. WCF is not only notorious for a wide caliber of racing but also renowned for providing an exceptionally enjoyable experience for racers, spectators, and even media crews alike. Racing at this intensity greatly increases the opportunity for brutal wrecks, terrifyingly close calls, and motivation-depleting engine failures which thankfully only resulted in damage to cars and property, and no racers were badly hurt thanks to the awesome response teams on site. The WORLD’s Most BRUTAL Street Car Challenge! Hot Rod’s “Drag Week” 2018 has OFFICIALLY launched and the competition has begun! With over 400 STREET CARS filling the pits of Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA, the tech lines have opened and testing lanes are full! Every year Hot Rod Magazine puts on the WORLD standard in STREET CAR tests, as they challenge any and all racer’s that believe they have a road worthy racecar! The insane popularity of this event only grows each year as pre-registration spots open up and sell out in under 10 MINUTES! These racer’s are only allowed to trailer their cars TO the event and from there they have to bring what they need to complete the 1,000+ EXHAUSTING miles. On top of the road trip, racers MUST make at least one pass at every track to stay in the competition, and at the end of the week their time slips are gathered, averaged, and from there each class winner is declared. It may sound simple, but every year only a fraction of the cars that enter…make it back to the the initial track to complete the punishing adventure! It all started with Bob Helms from UGR taking a 2500+ hp Lambo out and going over 220mph on his first test pass - tying the Tx2k roll race record! Lambo Caught by Police Chopper While STREET RACING! You never wanna get caught doing something wrong when you’re out driving around, but you REALLY do not want to get caught by the POLICE CHOPPER while STREET RACING! We were out checking out the street of Phoenix, Arizona once again and we were not disappointed! Heading out with packs of cars ranging from 600-1200hp, some of Phoenix’s fastest cars came out to play and let us tag along! Luckily for the racers, they were able to get off some good racing before the Police Chopper showed up!
