Even though the snowboard season was short I managed to have some incredible powder days in Whistler, Stevens Pass and Japan. This is our first day the sun has come out here at Stevens Pass. This has made it much easier for exploring and searching out these secret powder zones. The hiking area at Stevens was a bit hazardous because some of the zones have hidden cliffs and some areas that get flat and possibly stuck with your snowboard. The best powder snowboarding line of the day was actually our last hike when we found some untouched powder through the trees. My overall impression of hiking at Stevens Pass is that there are some incredible powder good but also some Hazards to respect and be cautious of. We had over twenty five centimeters of new snow fall over night and this is our first light powder snowboarding day at Steven's Pass. TJ and Chris drove down from Whistler to Stevens Pass last night and timed it perfectly for the powder snowboarding day we had today. We were lucky enough today to have some local snowboarders showing the great powder spots in the trees and in open bowls. The tree snowboarding at Stevens Pass was a mix of steep tight trees, wide out and spaced trees and steep tree chutes. The variety of powder snowboarding options and also the incredible people made this one the best days of snowboarding this season! We're discovering that there are many hidden powder stashes between the trees of almost every run. The snow has also not stopped falling since we've arrived which has made for bottomless powder snowboarding. I head up one of the steeper chairs here at Stevens Pass and meet up with Asia one of the locals here. We snowboard down a steep black diamond run that is filled with bottomless powder snow. The stand out here at Stevens Pass besides the powder and terrain is the welcoming people who make the resort feel at home. Our first stop is at the Evo snowboard store in Seattle to pick up some new Adidas Samba snowboard boots. Then we head to our cabin in the woods about 20 minutes from Stevens Pass Washington. Our first day of snowboarding was an adventure discovering all the new runs and chairlift at the resort. Also attempting to navigate the new resort in a snow storm with deep and heavy powder to snowboard through. Over Gill had a fun day of snowboarding and we'll be back again tomorrow to discover more areas at Stevens Pass.
