One of my favorite things to do for off season training is to practice with a training board. The crew at Snowboard Addiction gave me a training board setup back in the fall and I've been using it ever since practice my jibbing skills. I came back to Whistler to also find a package in the mail from SportRx. SportRx have been sending me goggles all season to try out. Rob and the SportRx crew have the best knowledge when it comes to snowboard goggles. Finally today I head over to visit Chris and make some dinner at his house. Everyone today is working on something different in there snowboard spins. Austin is working on riding switch into the takeoff so he can spin 180 and land regular. Tyler is in it to spin it and is going to huck whatever spin feel natural. TJ and myself are both working on getting our front and back 360 snowboard spins smooth. Four days ago Rob did his first snowboard run of the season in about a year. He's been working on snowboarding with more speed and more confidence. I've got two simple tips to help Rob with his first black diamond. The first is to to start on his toe edge. The heel turn is the easier of the two and by starting on your toes you set yourself up to be successful on your first turn. The second tip is to commit to the toe turn and face your chest to the top of the run. This will get the toe turn around so you can control your speed and get ready for the next turn.
