We arrived at Whistler mountain at 5:30 AM to be the first snowboarders on the mountain. The first lap we snowboarded through the mountain bike trials to an advanced deep powder tree run. Then headed over to the peak of the mountain where I found the best powder snowboarding lap down from the peak. We spent the last lap riding through an incredible out of bounds tree run called Khybers Pass. We're snowboarding in Hintertux, Austria and the mountain got over fifty centimeters of snow in forty eight hours. We arrived at the top of the mountain with our snowboards to find deep snow and dark clouds. We struggled to find our way but the some came out in spots and we managed to snowboard in some of the deepest powder ever. Overall the day was a success and I think we made the right decision to fight through the storm. This is our first day the sun has come out here at Stevens Pass. This has made it much easier for exploring and searching out these secret powder zones. The hiking area at Stevens was a bit hazardous because some of the zones have hidden cliffs and some areas that get flat and possibly stuck with your snowboard. The best powder snowboarding line of the day was actually our last hike when we found some untouched powder through the trees. My overall impression of hiking at Stevens Pass is that there are some incredible powder good but also some Hazards to respect and be cautious of. When we first arrived in Japan the weather forecast was only calling for traces of snow. Luckily on our first day of snowboarding we woke up to over forty centimeters of fresh powder. The snow has continued to fall since we've arrived which peaked on this day when we got over another 40 centimeters for the most epic day of powder snowboarding yet. We also met up with our friend and fellow youtube snowboarder Casey Willax who's out here for the next month to make snowboard video. So far this has been our best snowboard trip to Japan and we're feeling super thankful for the snow. Overnight we got 10cm's and it's continuing to snow throughout the day. This snow has opened up some of the areas on Whistler that we where unable to snowboard jump a few days ago. I'm riding today with Chris and Andreas who have their powder snowboads out. Andreas is actually riding a new snowboard that isn't even available yet, the GNU Fun Guy. After exploring some the the new powder zones that opened up we hit up some of the Whistler bike park trails that mostly covered enough to snowboard down. It's been snowing here the last few days which has resulted in a few inches of snow in the trees and gullies though out the resort. I'm snowboarding today with my friends Garrett and David. The highlight of snowboarding today has been the the deep gullies that wind between runs. Whenever you're snowboarding in the trees always ride with friends and take all the necessary safety precautions. Snowboarding this kind of terrain will challenge your riding and make you plan your line, steer aggressively and use your knees to absorb bumps.
