Today I'm on Blackcomb mountain snowboarding on a surprise powder day with my friend Chris. An are of the the mountain called 7th Heaven opened today, which gave us access to a huge area of powder trees and alpine. After snowboarding through some trees we headed to a double black diamond area of the mountain which was the steepest run I've done this season.</a>

In this video I've got 5 tips for snowboarding in the trees. For me snowboarding in the trees is a way to escape from the groomed runs and Terrain Park and really explore different areas of the mountain. The first tip I have is to always snowboard in the trees with a friend. Tree snowboarding can be very isolated so snowboarding with a friend will mean that there is someone there to help you, if you crash or get stuck.</a>
