Silverton, ColoRADo (pt II) The mitigated avalanches on Highway 110 (the road to the chairlift) were enormous and the snow completely covered the road over ten feet in some spots. Vehicles were unable to get through there for days and guests came and left. The mad scientist that runs Silverton Mountain decided to transport us powder hungry shredders by chopper from the town pretty much. First time ever this has happened before here so we were all feeling pretty excited and knew it was a special day. After the mountain being closed for five days straight while it was dumping snow you can bet it did not disappoint. Really glad I extended my trip three days because...
