You will want to make sure you are comfortable hitting medium to large sized jumps, as well as spinning frontside 360's and doing both frontside and backside shifty's in the same jump. Once you're comfortable with these skills you will be able to focus completely on poking out your shifty's and nothing else while you are in the air. To do the shifty-shifty you'll want to poke a frontside shifty first, then your backside shifty, spot your landing, and then finish your rotation to ride away straight down the landing. Once you try this trick you will find that the spin comes around quite naturally, and you really can just focus on poking out the shifty-shifty. The second step is to hold your snowboard straight in the air as long as possible. The final step is to twist your body to land the 180 riding out switch. Today we're working on back 360's, back board slides and back shifty's. The first lap through the terrain park we're doing some warm up snowboard tricks. For the back 360 we're warming up by doing back 180's over the jump and back 360's on side hits. For the back board slides we're riding on to the box 5050, then trying to twist out the board slide. The warm up for the back shifty in off the jump we're doing back shifty's on the snow. By warming up we got our body warmed up and are heads thinking of how the snowboard tricks should feel in the air or on the features.
