This blood red Nissan GT-R seemingly popped out of nowhere, transforming into the the KING of the Texas Streets overnight! While it’s hard to know how much power this street MONSTER is actually making, he’s not the first racer whom we’ve seen sandbag their numbers in lieu of the Texas hustle. Neither car gives entirely definitive numbers, but both are fast-approaching the realm of 2000HP which is absolutely insane to consider. The texas_killr_r35 may have more ponies on paper, the “Mud Truck” Viper is a wild ride of it’s own, with it’s n’th Moto built V10 and twin turbo setup. As the owner modestly states the viper “north of 1500(hp)”, it’s also being pushed through a manual gearbox which makes the Viper an ideal (and true) street car for many. Both racers are well versed with their cars on the streets, leading the suspense of this race down to a thrilling display of street car action! We saw this car last year at Cootamundra and though it was one of our favorites, it didn’t run very consistently. After a few change ups, IT’S BACK! This thing was not only way faster, it was extremely consistent! It broke the Cootamundra record for fastest 4 cylinder, won the RWD drag battle, AND the overall drag battle! What an insane car! This 1989 Volkswagen can go 200mph?! In the middle of 1320Video’s tour of Germany, we found ourselves at the reason we crossed the pond - The RACE1000 1/2 Mile at Airport Magdeburg Cochstedt, aka Germany’s premier 1/2 mile event! We heard this is where European cars come to raise the bar and we were not at all let down! Starting with this 1300hp Volkswagen GTI, powered by a massive Turbo fused to a built 24v VR6 from a VW R32 (they even swapped 4motion drivetrain into it!). Denny Wimmer and his CRAZY mkii GTI really opened our eyes to the European car scene, giving us a taste of what else the RACE1000 had to offer. nTH Moto brought their A-GAME to Texas Invitational this year, it may not have had the most horsepower out of the cars there but BOY was it consistent. During 10 full passes, the car was within 4-5 mph every single pass, making it one of the most difficult cars to take down in the new RWD class. One of the cooler features of this car, other than the meticulous, OCD quality of the build, is the sequential shiter setup they ran during the event. Get a sneak peak into the operations of this fairly rare (to street cars) transmission setup. One of the best races of the three-day race weekend is featured in this video when they run up against a 1300hp twin-turbo & supercharged compound setup Cobra that gives them quite the run for their money!
