Gas Gas and WP Suspension teamed up with Enduro Life Media to support Travis Teasdale’s Sea to Sky 2022 adventure. Being a privateer and coming all the way from South Africa, it is an expensive journey for any privateer to compete in such an organization. In 2021 we gave one of our own stock Gas Gas EC 250 to Travis and he made history with it. South African won the Beach Race and became overall P3 with a 250. This year we decided to gave him a better bike and brought the idea to Gas Gas and WP officials. They loved the idea and jumped right in with the project. We were able to convert our 2023 stock EC 250 into an EC 300 Factory Replica with all the necessary parts that are provided by Gas Gas Official and WP Suspension. We briefly put a sequence from the built period into this one but a detailed one will be published soon. Travis started to his racing week with a P1 at the Beach Race prologue on Day 1 and jumped into the finals in the afternoon. The finals didn’t start as he planned, with a bit of starting order chaos, but he then quickly recovered all the way up to 2nd in lap 3. The rock garden was a bit too technical for the backmarkers and lapping them wasn’t easy. He got stuck several times there and finished P8 in the end. On Day 2 he lined up for the Forest Race through the Taurus Mountains. After having a fast and flowing day Travis came home with P3. Day 3 featured the Sky Race for all the challengers. After nearly two hours of racing Travis got his best ever result of the week, P1, but the margins were so close, he was still 3rd overall before the main Mountain Race on Day 4. After the whole-shot at the beach, Travis got the lead and guided the pack into the riverbed. For the better part of the early stages into the last day he was keeping up with the leading pack but then overall P4 contender David Cyprian managed to gap further till the end. After nearly 4 hours of racing Travis reached to the finish line with P4, Day 4 and overall. An exciting track was laid off for the challengers on Day 2 at the Sea to Sky 2022’s Forest race. The single track that laid through Taurus Mountains wasn’t an extreme one but being tricky is always the case. Travis Teasdale started the day with P8 in order and had some homework left from the hectic Beach Race on Day 1. He picked up his rhythm early in the stage and kept the pace till the end. At the end of the day, South African managed to come home with a massive P3 behind Graham Jarvis and fellow countryman Matt Green. Sea to Sky Hard Enduro 2022 kicked off with Day1's Beach race wıth a super tricky track laid ahead to tackle. Travis Teasdale was the winner of the morning qualification and the title defender from last years Beach Race. South African had a bitter sweet race with a bad start in the early minutes. He recovered all the way up to P2 before the end of second lap but it didn't work out for him after that. At the end Travis finished the day with P8 and left some recovery work for the following days! The last day of Sea to Sky 2021 had its traditional zero altitude mass start at the beach and offered a gnarly route to the ultimate finish line over the clouds on the Mount Olimpos (Lycian). The first row took off at 09:00 AM and Mario Roman led the pack at the first half of the race. His team mate Wade Young got the lead before CP5 and stretched the gap more than four minutes once. Towards the end Mario got his rhythm back and reduced the gap down to one minute at the last check point. From that on to the finish he had Wade in his side from a striking distance and waited for the right moment. At a technical hill climb on the last stretch he gambled ona different line and worked his way to the lead. Mario then got to the chequered flag first by finishing the Mountain Race in 3h26m31s. Because wasn’t able to recover overall damage against his teammate Wade he ended up being P2 on the podium. Apart from the leading Sherco duo, Teodor Kabakchiev had a brilliant day as a privateer and came in P3 with just one minute far from Mario but again it didn’t matter cuz again it was not enough recovered for a podium spot. Travis Teasdale on the other had continued his epic S2S journey with an almost stock 250 and after winning Beach Race he rode enough to get him a place at the last step of the podium along side the Sherco’s duo. ✦ We can't thank enough to our host, Kemer Barut Collection family, for having our crew along with the fellow riders. Sea to Sky Day 3 action Sky Race was fairly run through at lover altitude comparing its debut last year. Due to this track selection we weren’t able to shot the epic frames that we filmed last year with extraterrestrial scenery. Once again Sherco’s South African Wade Young completed the track fastest for the day. He finished it in 1h36m06s. His team mate Mario Roman was only 1m45s behind and he kept the overall P2 with a hope to recover the damage on Mountain Race. 12th Edition of the Mediterranean hard enduro challenge Sea to Sky 2021 continued with Forest Race where the actual competition started heating up as riders get their time collected for the trophy. After a surprise podium we had on Day 1’s Beach Race, Travis opened the way into the Taurus mountains for Forest Race. Being out of the Beach Race podium, Sherco Factory duo Mario Roman and Wade Young were expected to get their rhythm going and they did so. It was Wade who completed the course fastest by reaching to the chequered flag in 1h43m09s. Mario came in P2 (+56s) an Travis P3 (1m51s). We had gotten into World’s greatest Hard Enduro Rider, Graham Jarvis’s office during his Signature Tour launch back in July, 2020 (Jarvis Signature Tours Sea to Sky). Finally, we came to Day 4 for the Sea to Sky 2020 Hard Enduro Race and all 159 riders were set to have the mass start for the big trophy. Sea to Sky 2020 The Mountain Race format was to take start at the beach and ride all the way up for 55 kilometres to Mount Olympus (2365 meters of altitude). It was Wade Young got reached to the CP1 first but top 5 were so close to each other till CP8. When Mario Roman reached to CP8 first the top 4 were within only 3 seconds. Between CP8 and CP9 Mario Roman and Billy Bolt took a wrong line which hurt these two dearly. In the end of the day it was Graham Jarvis to win the big trophy. Wade Young came in P2 and Billy Bolt P3. With this win Graham Jarvis won Sea to Sky for the 6th time at the age 45. After 2 days of intense racing it was Day 3 for Sea to Sky Hard Enduro Race. A 32 km track laid upon 2000 meters of altitude for the first time in Sea to Sky Hard Enduro history and it is called Sky Race. The track was mainly designed to be a softer trail for everyone to enjoy the beautiful scenery but because it was softer it took only 54 minutes for Billy Bolt to finish it with P1.
