As if it wasn’t a rare enough occasion for us to be able to film Top Fuel DRAGSTERS, we unknowingly landed ourselves in the middle of a Top Fuel haven! Filming bikes isn’t usually our style, but how could we say no to filming bikes with 1500hp worth of raw thundering TOP FUEL power? These riders are either fearless, or are struggling with an insatiable desire for adrenaline to be able to straddle a missile with a parachute mounted on the back. Santa Pod, UK’s home for top tier drag racing and entertainment, is one of those events that just keeps on giving and giving. Hardware stores need to step their game up to compete with the UK’s innovation of what a Shed can be used for! Likely the most jaw-dropping, head-turning, and smile generating build we saw while at Santa Pod Raceway for the “The Main Event”, this “Shed” was what stole the show for us. Kevin built this AMAZING display of automotive creativity and uniqueness from a 4Motion Volkswagen Passat he had purchased for parts, but it ended up being too good of a car to scrap and there the story begins. Kevin built something which blurs the lines between passenger car and recreational vehicle but still retained the ability to be STREET LEGAL, and so it is! Kevin had a tough journey to get to this point, but he has absolutely earned the right to the title of “World’s Fastest Street Legal SHED!”. Aston Martin cars are a known to be an excellent fusion of sport and luxury, so hearing about an Aston Martin at the drag strip wouldn’t be totally unheard of. Seeing a 1-off Aston Martin drag car (that is street legal and registered) running 7 second passes with a custom body designed off a Aston Martin Virage with cues and taillights from the iconic Vantage platform, is something truly unique! This was one of the most exciting finds from 1320Video’s international trip to Santa Pod Raceway in the United Kingdom. Fast Freddy; a crowd favorite, an OG of the Stockholm Open, and a Genuine Badass! Racing a Pro-Modded chassis of the vehicle his father picked him up from school in, Fast Freddy merges sentiment with serious SPEED. He bought this truck from his dad when he was 19 years old and he’s still enjoying it to this very day as it’s gone through transformation after transformation to become the BEASTLY C10 we see here today. Fast Freddy almost lost this truck to a shop fire, but thankfully the Drag Racing community came together yet again and within 4 months had Freddy’s shop, truck and trailer fixed and allowed Freddy to continue racing and chasing after his first ever 5 second pass!
