What started life as a $225 beater has been transformed into a race-winning diesel sports truck. Builder Scott Birdsall started with a 1949 Ford F1 in poor shape and swapped nearly everything in it. The truck is powered by a 1400bhp 6.7-litre Cummins motor with a compound turbo setup, upgraded pistons, and full racing suspension. Rob takes this Pikes Peak racer out on the track and gives Scott the chance to drive his own 3-Rotor RX-7... TX2K21 was full of hidden gems, one of which was David Mazzei’s “Formula Seven” 4-Rotor monster! This car is UNBELIEVABLE in EVERY radical way, especially when it comes to the exhaust note. As shocking as one turbo 4-Rotor is, it goes to show what an incredible opportunity it was to find TWO of them in the same parking lot. Today we drive the rotary shifter go cart on the street! This rotary go kart is powered by a 1975 Hercules W2000 motorcycle and is a complete monster for this small go kart frame! In order to get this thing all finished up we first needed to install a custom steering wheel and 3d printed badges. This kart is also rocking the 787b Renown livery of the 1991 Le Mans car. While it doesn't seem like much, it took us hours to get everything up to spec. After it was ready to go, we took it out to some abandoned roads and really let it get up to speed! While we were driving we unfortunately lost the clutch, we think that there was a metal ball in the clutch rod that got welded to the push rod itself. Hopefully we can find the parts we need to get this thing back on the road! We saw this gorgeous Mazda RX-7 last year at Drag Week 15' doing some kick-ass 8 second passes, and we were so happy to see it back again this year! Apparently, an 8-second Mazda wasn’t enough, so Rick ditched the old small-block Chevy motor, and swapped it out with a nice 555 cubic inch Chevy big-block motor. Paired with 2 Garrett, 88mm turbos, this little RX-7 is now being pushed to mid 7-second passes, trapping OVER 190mph! Rick is no stranger to Drag Week, but what’s cool is that not only has he built one, but now TWO badass twin turbo big block monsters to compete at Drag Week! When we met Rick, he had this same motor in his wagon and has since transplanted it into his 1990 RX-7 painted bright green. Pushing this RX-7 down the track is a 450 cubin inch big block Chevy motor with two 75mm turbochargers feeding it. This thing caught our attention immediately! Wrecks are never fun, but that’s one of the risks racers are willing to take when screaming down the track at high speeds! Unfortunately for these two racers, neither got away from this tragic incident. As you see in the video, the RX-7 can’t seem to get traction at speed and when the wheels continue to spin at speed, it sends the car towards the wall!
