The King of the Carpathians extends his reign over the World’s Toughest Hard Enduro Rallye, Red Bull Romaniacs, with a sensational 7th win at the age of 47. After a stunning ride on Day 3, Graham Jarvis put a comfortable lead to his closest rival Teodor Kabakchiev, +15m44s. All he had to do on the final day was to avoid any mistake and nurture his Husky to the finish line. The GOAT did well and finished the day with P5, only 7m behind Teodor, which was the mark of the Victory. Teodor Kabakchiev proved himself to be a serious contender and made it to the P2 podium spot before some of the finest factory riders. The Bulgarian privateer scored his best ever Romaniacs venture by finishing it 8m32s behind the victor. Mario Roman was in a fight for a better podium spot and finished the day ahead of Teodor but it was just not enough the gain an extra position. The Spaniard completed the podium with +13m26s to Graham. This became his 2nd consecutive P3 at the Carpathians. At the Silver Class, Chris Birch clinched a tight victory with only 1m26s ahead of Fabien Poirot and enjoyed the podium spot with a cheer of champagne. Matthias Walkner’s Romaniacs journey also ended with a podium spot at the Bronze Class. He a P3 with his chunky KTM 450 Rally. Hard Enduro World Championship moved to North America for Rd6 TKO in US and for Rd7 Outliers in Canada. We were not able to follow up these two but will be in Spain for the last round, Hixpania Hard Enduro. After the riders spent the night at the Ranca Ski resort off road Day 3 of the Red Bull Romaniacs 2022 took start above the clouds, 2000 meters of altitude, with a fast grass section ahead at the early stages. Graham Jarvis got his second Day’s win of the Romaniacs 2022 and stretched his lead as the GOAT edges to his historic 7th win of the toughest Hard Enduro Rallye. With no hope of winning the race, Manuel Lettenbichler tried to recover as much places as possible and the German came in P2 for the day. Championship leader now sits in P6 overall. Mario Roman was another hot start of the day. Spaniard got caught by Michael Walkner early in the day but the duo fired each other than and made some time against Teodor Kabakchiev which wasn’t enough to pass him at the overall ladder. There were three retirements from the race on Day 3. The City Prologue top two Alfredo Gomez and Taddy Blazusiak retired at the service point. Taddy complained about the wrist and felt its unnecessary to push further through this intense racing. Alfredo’s food poisoning had gone worse and broke his physical condition to continue. Off-road Day 2 at the Red Bull Romaniacs 2022 was started with an early morning shower which was to add some spice to the competition but it didn’t last long and we were back at dusty conditions again. Title defender Manuel Lettenbichler, whose hopes of winning the race were battered with a 2h time penalty on Day 1, started the day from 17th place. The German rode an blistering pace though out the day and came out on top by clearing more than 16 minutes to his closest rival for the day, Graham Jarvis. With the fact that Mani is out of the picture, Graham Jarvis had to focus on Teodor Kabakchiev and Mario Roman without getting into trouble. The GOAT got the job done by coming in faster than both behind Mani, P2. He stretched his overall lead to more than 9 minutes against Kabakchiev. It was the young Bulgarian who completed the top 3 for the day and kept his overall P2 position. The breaking news of the day was Alfredo Gomez’s food poisoning. The Spaniard explained the situation via an Instagram post saying that something he had for dinner the previous day affected him badly. He wasn’t able to sleep or have something to eat all day long and received medical aid. Chris Birch’s P1 performance on Day 2 brought him the overall lead by one minute at the Silver Class. Red Bull Romaniacs 2021 witnessed a great struggle and competition between the world’s most talented and enthusiastic enduro riders from all classes. Round 4 of the FIM’s World Hard Enduro Championship executed on between 27-31 July in and around the beautiful city of Sibiu, Romania. Being started to the day with a comfortable lead, it was expected from Manuel Lettenbichler to ride cautiously but KTM Factory rider was on another level and enjoyed the hell out of it by claiming both the Day 4 and Red Bull Romaniacs 2021. The German got his 3rd consecutive win and equalised Graham Jarvis’s “Most back to back wins”. Offroad Day 4 was bearing another meaning to all fans and riders. Because of the global pandemic situation Organizers took the hard decision and dropped the iconic City Prologue and Gusterita hill climb for 2020 edition. We still missed the City Prologue this year but Gusterita was BACK! That’s a wrap for the World’s toughest hard enduro race Red Bull Romaniacs 2021 and KTM Factory racing rider Manuel Lettenbichler is our winner and record equalizer. With getting his 3rd consecutive win, the German equalled Graham Jarvis’s 2011 - 2021 - 2013 winning streak. The racing weekend was fun and the only majorly bad news was from Offroad Day 2 where Graham stuck his foot and twisted his knee. He then sadly retired from the race. That incident put Mani into a confident state for the rest. He was in control all the way and by getting P4 and P1 on day 3 and 4, he claimed his victory for the third consecutive edition. We also got the iconic Gusterita back after missing it last year. The scene, the staff and off course the fans were amazing and really enjoyed classic Romaniacs closing ceremony. First ever marathon stage of Red Bull Romaniacs 2021 ended with Offroad Day 3. The inaugural marathon stage connected the Offroad Day 2 and 3. Riders of all classes spent the night in their tents without receiving any technical support from their teams or mechanics. Offroad Day 3 was fairy less challenging in comparison to Day 2. Sherco’s Wade Young was the fastest on the track and got the win over it. South African reached to the cequered flag in 4h20m52s and defended his P2 at the overall. Overall leader Manuel Lettenbichler, with the confidence of having more than 20 minutes against his closest rival, had a cautious ride and brought his KTM home with P4. We are half way through the World’s most challenging Hard Enduro challenge, AKA the Red Bull Romaniacs 2021. Offroad Day 2 started 06:45 AM local and there was light rain at first. As the day went on the weather cleared and an extreme heat strike all classes. It was the most demanding challenge so far and we saw a lot of riders fighting intensely on the edge of giving up. The most dramatic moment of the day came as the leading pack closed in to the finish line. 6-time winner Graham Jarvis got his foot stuck and twisted his knee just 40 minutes before the end. The Lagend had to retire from his favourite one. On the other hand Defending champion Manuel Lettenbichler had a good ride and arrived to the finish on top and now sits in the overall lead. Sherco’s Mario Roman was another level today and draw a strong image at the most technical sections. The Spaniard came in 2nd. Offroad Day 2 of the iconic Red Bull Romaniacs 2021 edition is in the books and it was tough to swallow in any way. Extreme heat and a demanding track put all the riders under severe tests but the most shocking news came from the leading pack. As they closed in to the finish line, 6-time winner Graham Jarvis got his foot stuck and twisted his knee just 40 minutes before the end. The Lagend had to retire from his favourite one. Upon his initial medical check he was informed that “lateral collateral ligament grade 2-3” but for the final assessment he will take an MRI. Red Bull Romaniacs 2021 Offroad Day 1 is now behind us at the world’s most extreme Hard Enduro rallye, and Graham Jarvis is the winner of the day. Gold Class kicked of at 06:45 local and Rockstar Husky’s Alfredo Gomez was the one to open the track for the rest. Alfredo Gomez, Teodor Kabakchiev, Manuel Lettenbichler, Wade Young and Graham Jarvis basically got together after the service point and rode all together most of the time. World's most talented hardenduro riders showed up at the Red Bull Romaniacs 2021 in search of one of most desired title. After completing Tuesday's Time Trial Qualification they all took on Ofroad Day 1 for the first taste of the main challenge. Graham Jarvis had an incredible ride and came to the finish line as the day's leader. Defending champion Manuel Lettenbichler came in P2 and 2018's champion Wade Young with P3. Offroad Day 2 is the day of newly introduced Dakar style Marathon Stage and the riders will stay in their tents over night without receiving any service support. World’s finest hard enduro riders showed up at Red Bull Romaniacs 2020 to compete the ultimate Hard Enduro Rallye of all time. Romaniacs was the only race that has happened in the cancelled WESS 2020 calendar and it went through some changes with the regular race format. Biggest changes were the dates and the cancellation of city prologue. The organisation implemented an Off-road Time Trial as a replacement of the inner-city prologue and the race week started with it on Tuesday the 27th of October. The weather was pretty nice and the ground wasn’t muddy to challenge riders through the course. Wade Young finished the day on top by completing the track with 38m51s.
