World’s toughest hard enduro rally Red Bull Romaniacs 2022 was held for the 19th time this year, 26-30 July 2022, as the 5th round of FIM’s Hard Enduro World Championship. The Carpathian challenge was always a great show for the fans but in 2020 and 2021 we didn’t get the iconic City Prolouge due to global pandemic restrictions. This year though was special and we finally got back the trickiest prologue back. One edition lasted longing ended and the World of Hard Enduro reunited with the Red Bull Romaniacs’ iconic Impossible Climb Gusterita with the most spectacular way possible. Due to the severe lockdown and health restrictions of 2020, it was cancelled and we all missed it a lot. Thankfully it made a comeback not before long and from riders to fans everybody enjoyed the feast. The last sector of each Romaniacs, Hill Climb Gusterita is a hill climbs complex supported with tricky obstacles but the main hill climb is the centre of attraction every year. Riders can only earn the right of hitting it after more than 20h extreme racing throughout the race week. First ever marathon stage of Red Bull Romaniacs 2021 ended with Offroad Day 3. The inaugural marathon stage connected the Offroad Day 2 and 3. Riders of all classes spent the night in their tents without receiving any technical support from their teams or mechanics. Offroad Day 3 was fairy less challenging in comparison to Day 2. Sherco’s Wade Young was the fastest on the track and got the win over it. South African reached to the cequered flag in 4h20m52s and defended his P2 at the overall. Overall leader Manuel Lettenbichler, with the confidence of having more than 20 minutes against his closest rival, had a cautious ride and brought his KTM home with P4. Despite his P2 on Day 1 and P3 on Day 3, young Bulgarian sits in P8 overall. He is still the best privateer and the future seems bright for him.
