Ride onboard with me in my Heat 1 of the ROK Cup Florida Winter Tour 2022 at the Isle Casino parking lot. This was my first race in a single speed kart in over 3 years so definitely not the best driving as you can see P1 gapping me. There is no question that this is the end of the line for the Honda Stock Moto engine; it's been great for many years, but now, with introduction of both the Rok and KZ engines, the Honda is just outdated. Like many folks who are looking at the Shifter/KZ class, I also wonder about the difference in performance. Put in 17th out of 48 with no draft in Qualifying at this absolute draft-fest of a track. Ski jump was interesting too. First time out in my own new to me shifter kart. Running on used MG yellows pulled from the tire trailer at GoPro. Brand new freshly broken in ROK shifter. Yes, I know that the camera angle sucks. Here are all of the recorded crashes and spins I still have that I've been a part of or witnessed since I started karting. They vary between racing karts and rental karts. This is the Final from the first round of the 2019 Gearup F-Series at GoPro Motorplex. This is the Formula Shifter class which allows Stock Honda's, ROK's, and KZ's to compete. I started 3rd on a ROK powered Compkart, after a poor start i fell to 6th and had to work my way back though to finish 3rd on track.
