WCF is not only notorious for a wide caliber of racing but also renowned for providing an exceptionally enjoyable experience for racers, spectators, and even media crews alike. Racing at this intensity greatly increases the opportunity for brutal wrecks, terrifyingly close calls, and motivation-depleting engine failures which thankfully only resulted in damage to cars and property, and no racers were badly hurt thanks to the awesome response teams on site. Pushing ALL of the Boost you can through a 98mm sounds like a good time, until you realize it’s still running a stock block! This turbo 6.0l Trans-Am wasn’t showing any signs of giving up though, as it powered through two classes all the way to the finals! Which is even more impressive considering that meant having to hot lap the car all night to compete in both classes. We saw this car last year at Cootamundra and though it was one of our favorites, it didn’t run very consistently. After a few change ups, IT’S BACK! This thing was not only way faster, it was extremely consistent! It broke the Cootamundra record for fastest 4 cylinder, won the RWD drag battle, AND the overall drag battle! What an insane car! In this video we put a Turbo on the 60's go kart! What we needed to do was make a turbo manifold, oil system, and electrical system to make sure the turbo could run completely autonomously, that way when we hook it up to the engine, we would know that there were no issues on the turbo side of things. Before we began the install we filmed some awesome driving footage to get a preliminary test so we could compare before and after the turbo was installed. He calls it OVERKILL - We call it PERFECT! Yes, There are TWO Turbos AND a Blower! By now, the whole world knows that Aussies don’t mess around when it comes to CRAZY and over the top, but this was pretty wild even for them! We caught Ben and his BADASS Boost Factory he bolted in between the wheels of a 1976 Ford Cortina! Stoked and ready to ROCK, Ben was preparing for his first Skid ever at Summernats while also hoping to break his current personal best skid of 14 seconds! Built from the motivation of being told he’d never get it to work, it was a particularly proud time as he showed off he CRAZY build! All show and PLENTY of go, this 1976 Ford Cortina laid down a nasty skid until a mechanical issue cut the run short.
