The installation instructions make the install process seem a little more complex than it really is and the first one took me a while to figure out, but once you know how it's actually very easy! In this quick video I show you how to strip your doors down and remove the door cards, external door handles, rubber trim and mirror. In my case I did this to prep for wrapping. It's a lot easier to wrap your doors, mirrors and handles if they're not on the car. To reinstall, simply reverse the process. It's been almost 3 months now since I started the facelift from NB1 to NB2, but I've finally had time to prepare and wrap the front bumper, which means it's now time to install it! Over the weekend I got started on prepping the MX5 bodywork for wrapping. There's quite a few little dents and marks which need to be fixed up before wrapping the car to ensure a quality and long lasting result. I'm not a professional, and I've deliberately kept this video relatively vague because I'm sure there's a tonne of stuff I'm doing wrong. That said, I was able to achieve the desired result so I guess I can't have screwed up too badly! No 15 minute challenges, no bikinis (sorry) and no skipping over the details. In this video I show you how to install a set of coilovers in to an NB MX5. The process is almost identical for NA, and a lot of the same principles apply to just about every car. The video also covers the features and benefits of MCA Suspension coilovers, and why I chose them for Project MX5. As someone who had never done anything like this before, the whole process took me around 4-5 hours on my own, and would definately be faster the next time having learned a few lessons in the process which are all covered in the video. I'd say allowing an hour per corner is reasonable. Faster still if you have a helper. The only difficult part was getting the top nuts on the rear struts whilst holding them in place. I managed on one side but ended up getting helper on the other side to speed things up a bit and reduce the risk of dropping my shiny new MCA X-R coilovers.  Equipment & Tools Required: Jack (or Hoist) 4 x Jack Stands (or Hoist) A flat and even surface to work on Wheel nut adaptor to suit your wheel nuts Gloves (Optional but your hands will get VERY dirty without them!) In this video I complete my Demon Eyes installation by wiring them up to the MX5 with a remotely controlled switch. The switch is active at all times, meaning I can turn the lights (or any other accessory I connect) on and off any time i want from up to about 100m away, even when the car is off. COOL! This same switch can be used to control just about any accessory you like. This particular module handles up to 5A of current, but you could always use it to trigger an auxiliary relay that handles more current if you needed to. Remote horn, anyone? Here's a quick video update on what you can expect over the coming weeks from Project MX5. As you can see, the car is in a bit of a state at the moment, with a few "half done" mods that need to be finished off. I also have coilovers and Wrap ready to happen! My aim is to have it back on the road properly and off to some motorkhana in the very near future.
