Back again with a new Billet motor, Tom Bailey brought his 4000 horsepower “Beast Mode” Camaro to this years Drag Week with hopes of blasting a couple 5-second passes down the 1320. Unfortunately for him, he fried a piston and tore up a cylinder sleeve on the first day - which needed work that couldn’t be completed along the way. Jim was OK and did a hell of a job at keeping the car off its roof but ran out of room and got into the left hand wall. Jerry Yoeman in his Turbo Corvette suffering a horrific explosion and fire during PDRA Qualifying from Tulsa Raceway Park. Apparently there was an electronics malfunction which lead to the RPMs to spike and the transmission cooler to exploded spraying tranny fluid in every direction.
