Every Saturday at the Ice Cream Cruise, we host our “Not so Much Prep” No-Prep race after the main event. This race incorporates a wide range of the most badass cars in the midwest, from regular street cars all the way up to some SERIOUS small tire competition! With all the amazingly built cars that entered it’s difficult to represent them all in one video, however the small tire class was so competitive that we had to make a full feature of it alone. There is lots to check out, like Beater Bomb losing or big power cars we expected to go rounds blowing the tires off before they make it 60’ out! Our first time attending the Flashlight Shootout proved to be a worthwhile experience as we crossed paths with a car we hadn’t seen in quite some time - The Texas Rattlesnake! This savage 3,000hp twin-turbo Chevy S-10 build is one hard to miss vehicle and one hard to beat competitor! Jumping into the lanes of Xtreme Raceway Park in Ferris, Texas, we caught Landon Hobbs making his first competitive passes in this originally no-prep built big tire machine. While the plate may suggest they prefer no-prep style racing, Landon and the Texas Rattlesnake crew don’t seem to have any aversion to competing in prepped event, especially when trying to tame 3,000hp for the first time. The Street Car SUPER-BOWL is LIVE and kicking off with the intensity you’d expect from TX2K! Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the event, TX2K19 Day 1 was JAM packed with Roll Racing testing and qualifying. While we still ran into the typical TX2K rain-showers, the event still pushed ahead with the full support of the racers after a short few hour rain delay. The weather passed, the track went hot, and racers took full advantage of Houston Raceway Park’s drag strip coated with STICKY prep from the legendary Jason Miller! Even with some of the stickiest prep in the world, there will still a few CRAZY moments through the day that couldn’t be avoided. MAN-Shifting - 950hp of German Engineering! For those of you who remember this car from a previous episode of 1320Video in Germany, we saw this MONSTER BMW while touring our friends shop at Donkey Tec! After loading up on some fresh parts, revised tune, and a good dyno session, this badass stick shift E46 BMW pulled off the trailer in the RACE1000 pits to lay down some POWER! Freshly paired with a new turbo and some new supporting accessories, this Donkey Tec tuned Turbo E46 showed up to take full advantage what of the RACE1000 1/2 Mile has to offer. Pairing nearly 1000hp with RWD in Europe is a tough combination when the tracks aren’t prepped and the streets are slick (granted they DO have the Autobahn), but this BMW wasn’t scared of the challenge as it made pull after pull while shooting for that 300km club mark!
