It’s hard to imagine what this 2004 Ford Ranger Edge must look like under the multiple layers of mud and moss it's accumulated. Believe it or not, owner Duncan flew to the US in 2004 to buy it brand new and bring it back home to the UK. For years the truck was his pride and joy, only used for Sunday best and always kept in pristine condition. The arrival of Duncan’s daughter meant that he no longer had time for the Ranger which has now been sitting outside on the drive for four long years. How could we ignore a stick shift pick up cranking out 700hp thanks to a screaming LSA blower? (If the answer wasn’t obvious…we couldn’t) Initially meeting at Bandimere Speedway, we caught Cory in the middle of the overwhelming excitement from squeezing out a pass at the VERY LAST SECOND of Day 1 at Rocky Mountain Race Week. This is a truck we haven’t seen in a LONG time! As soon as we laid eyes on it in the pits of Winter Meltdown at Houston Raceway Park, we walked straight over to check it out. The truck still has a massive single turbo setup but with more modern components than when we last saw. Streetcar Takeover Denver @ Bandimere Speedway is a MASSIVE event that never fails to deliver new badass builds and drivers! Bandimere is a BEAUTIFUL track which is all the more fitting for the gorgeous old school trucks (and some new!) that entered Streetcar Takeover’s drag truck class. From a bright yellow C-10 housing a sleek & stout twin-turbo LS setup all the way down to an all-motor 1944 Ford pick-up capable of clicking off consistent 8 second passes, this class had it all! The truck class is not typically one where we see this level of competition, making it one we couldn’t stop our excitement for. SEMA sets the standard for impressive, and HEAVY D (a.k.a. Dave Sparks from Discovery Channels new show "Diesel Brothers") did not fail to deliver! This BEAST has THREE drive axles, and incorporates steering into all SIX wheels! Trying to stay on par with the MEGA RAM RUNNER they built last year, these guys have done it again with over a FOOT of suspension travel and up to 30 degrees of REAR steering, there isn’t much this truck can’t do!
