Chris Haslam, Mario Wirnsberger and Peter Molec head up as Madars Apse goes down in episode 2 of ‘The Way To Everest’.
Our journey from Chengdu to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, was a visual delight. The Himalayas basked in the most beautiful weather. Upon arrival in Lhasa, we all noticed the thin air. You can buy cans of compressed oxygen everywhere, but they slow your acclimatisation so we forewent them because we intended to skate.

In this video we're working on a new butter trick the back 180 nose butter to cab 180 out. This is a fun butter trick you can do anywhere on the mountain and I'll break it down into five parts. This way you can work on each part separately and then bring them together to get this new butter snowboard trick. The first part of this butter trick is the ollie. This sets up the trick and gets you balanced. The second part is the backside 180. When working on the backside 180 it's important to have a level takeoff and landing. The third part of this snowboard butter trick is the switch nose press. The best place to learn new presses is on easier and more mellow runs. The fourth part is the switch nollie. The switch nollie is what you'll use to help finish the butter trick. The final part of the butter trick is a cab 180. Cab is a skateboard term that means switch frontside. Once you have all these snowboard tricks mastered you can bring them together to for the butter trick. I found that this snowboard butter trick was a lot easier and I stayed more balanced by keeping my knees bent. For more snowboard trick tips check out the snowboard trick playlist. Thanks for watching!

Born in Long Beach, Tave still has close ties to home and enjoys spending time with his ethnically diverse family (Tave's background includes Caucasian, Hawaiian, African American and Japanese). He has been riding a skateboard for 10 years, has one of the best nollie inward heels in the game and just landed in his second pro model shoe from C1RCA, the TT2.
