By riders for riders, The Fest Series has gained popularity worldwide by pushing freeride forward with massive jumps, insane tricks and heavy metal highlight edits. The crew is expanding their concept by presenting a new format: Fest Sessions. Hosted by Nico Vink, the Sessions approach had Nico focusing on building an entire bikepark and creating a playground for freeriders. By the time the build was complete, BikePark Ferme Libert boasted a new medium jumpline, an enormous double-sided hip and more hidden transfers and gaps than there were people to ride them. While riding the big line is always the cherry on top, Nico knows how wind and weather dependent the world’s biggest jumps are, and with this new approach there wasn’t going to be a single missed day of riding. In 2013, X Games welcomed MTB Slopestyle into the fold at X Games Munich. A lot has changed in that time. Whereas we once concentrated on a big air approach to MTB courses, the riding has become faster, more technical and more insane! In mid-July, the world’s craziest downhill mountain bikers gathered together to jump one of the most unreasonable lines of 2019. The Belgian downhill king, Nico Vink, is the host of the event. He also constructed and developed the whole line and this year, promising that it would be even more insane. The line he built in the Belgian bike park “Ferme Libert” is one of the biggest jump lines ever ridden on a mountain bike. Just to make it through the jumps, it takes the skills and determination of the best in the world. Imagine the gap portion of the X Games Big Air ramp, but on a mountain bike, surrounded by some of the world’s best mountain bike riders in the world. Now give it a name like “Loosefest 19” and you’ve got one of the craziest mountain bike celebrations in the world. Don’t clip in, but do sit back and watch some of the most massive tabletops, toboggans and supermans known to man. Things are about to get loose!
