The main spec you should be looking at if you have a boot size 11, 12, 13 or bigger, is called waist width. The bigger the waist width, the less chance you will have of getting heel or toe drag. These 5 boards are naturally wide and will accommodate larger boot sizes. You should also check to see if your favorite snowboard is available in a "Wide" size, indicated by a W next to the size, as that can also help to solve this issue. The Instagator is part of Never Summers Shaper Series and has a fun and unique construction. You're going to find a new camber profile in this board that combines their Ripsaw profile in the rear with the regular rocker camber in the front. This means that you'll have twice as much camber under your rear foot for more stability at high speeds, down technical lines, and offering more pop. You're also going to find a blunted tail outside the contact points combined with a 12mm taper; These features will work together to provide more float in soft snow. Overall the Instagator is a snowboard that is going to perform in any condition, and could be thought of as a similar but rocker dominant version of the Ride Warpig in my opinion. This review was actually filmed on the last day of the season at Keystone for 16/17, and as you can see conditions were solid all the way to the end. We had a nice variety of variable snow, groomers, and an awesome terrain park to test out this snowboard. The Proto Type 2 offers a rocker dominant profile, true twin shape, asymmetrical sidecut, and medium flex. This combination gives the board a bit of a playful feel while still providing lots of stability and support in high impact scenarios. In this video conditions are ripe for carving and I share 5 more advanced carves for you to try as part of the test for the Never Summer Proto Type 2 snowboard. Once you are comfortable carving without scrubbing at high speeds, you're ready to try these carves. I will talk you through and demonstrate the standard eurocarve, heel carve with grab, eurocarve with 2 grab variations, and the revert carve. All of these carves are a lot of fun and are a great way to challenge yourself as you cruise around the mountain.
