The International Six Days of Enduro 2022 kicked off today at the heart of Pyrenees, France, for the 69th edition. It was the day of Cross Test and Team Spain set the pace for the World Trophy class. With Josep Garcia in lead the team put a lightning pace against them all and won the day by clearing more than 22 seconds. At the World Women's Trophy Team US picked from where they left last year and claimed the day's victory. Team Italy of the Junior Class was on a roll as they rode the day through specials and came in with a smile on their face. We are cruising into the Enduro Test on Day 2. Extreme XL Lagares returned after two years of absence and hard enduro magicians from all around the world lined up for a taste of Portuguese extreme, 6 - 8 May 2022. Francesc Moret Clota was kind enough to wear our GoPro during the main race and he captured as much as from the start till his battery died. Rieju Factory rider did great during the first two days but it was time to really show off what he has from his trials background. The Spanish man felt great and made a good start and even collected some positions early in the race. He did not have any technical problem with his ride but the pace wasn’t there for a podium appearance at the end. Francesc completed the race in 3h54m58s and claimed P6 behind Ni Esteves. Extreme XL Lagares’s legendary City Prologue made a comeback after two years and it was a great entertainment through Porto’s iconic streets. It was held the other side of the river for the first time and organization put a lot of effort to execute this massive operation at the touristic heart of the city. All riders took one hot lap to set the best time. XL, Hobby and Veteran classes rode the track in reverse which was fairly easy and match for their skillsets. Then Expert and Pro classes took the scene for the real challenge. Massive obstacles and narrow streets were tricky to pass and sometimes riders made mistakes which were ended up with fails. The fastest 10 qualified for the City Prologue whole shot which was a race of the same track for only one lap. Jumping right into the narrow street stairs caused a bit of traffic which took a while to pass. Mario Roman made a great start and took the early lead and did not effected by the traffic jam. His teammate Wade Young was behind but the race was brief and couldn’t find a chance to make a move. Mario Roman got the victory for the first podium of the race, Wade Young came in P2 and Portuguese Diogo Vieira P3. ACU’s British Extreme Enduro Championship 2022 season debuted with Round 1 Tong with more than 150 competitors including world hard enduro champion Billy Bolt. Heavy rain cold weather made it really hard for everyone but the enthusiasm kept us all warm enough to hang in. This year’s Tong surprised us with a track update to the conventional one that we knew over the years. With the new format the track got longer with really nice bits but it kept signature sectors like the tricky waterfall. PM race started 12:30 local time and the challenge continued for two and a half hours. Billy Bolt had a good start and started stretching his lead but early in the race he lost his front brake. He then had to ride cautiously and so Jack Price caught him around the halfway but he managed to bring the victory home. ✦✦✦ Podium ✦✦✦ 1. Billy Bolt – 7 Laps – 2h30m06s 2.
