That is exactly what Red Bull Air Force Team members Jon Devore, Mike Swanson and Andy Farrington managed to pull off! The jump took place from approximately 1,865 meters above Panorama road overlooking the Dead Sea, which happens to be -430 meters below sea level. As the athletes took turns challenging each other in getting as close as possible to the ground to cross the Zero level barrier – marked by the flag of Jordan- in a very daring move, the parachutes were opened at -170 meters below sea level for the jumpers to eventually swoop land on the surface of one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world. _ Experience the world of Red Bull like you have never seen it before. A BASE jump is parachuting or wingsuit flying from a fixed object – the acronym BASE stands for four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump: building, antenna, span, and Earth (cliff). An unassisted BASE jump means that the jumper cannot utilize an outside source (like an elevator or crane) to return to the jump point – So Miles had to hike to the top for EVERY jump. Daisher originally set the record in 2005 with 57 jumps, and his record stood until 2016, when Dan Weiland jumped 61 times. In addition to now holding the 24-hour unassisted record, Daisher also holds the unofficial record for most BASE jumps ever, having jumped 4,520 times in his lifetime. Miles BASE jumped from the top of the Treasury in the depth of the Lost City of Petra and landed directly in front of it, in less than 15 seconds, going 20 miles per hour, in a canyon that is 100 feet wide.
