The final round of the 2022 Hard Enduro World Championship was bound to be a close fight at Hixpania between the defending champ Manuel Lettenbichler and the home hero Mario Roman. After Day 1’s City Prologue and Day 2’s Campoo Xtreme Mani managed to reserve the front row for final action, Lost Roads. From start to finish he controlled everything and stayed away doing major mistakes which would have put a tragic end to his almost flawless season. At the end of the day, The German rightfully defended his title and became a 3rd time champion of the world. Mario, with just 4 pts behind Letti, was full of hopes at the start of the week but the opening days didn’t turn out to favour him. He still had a 2h30m extremely hard course to cover as well as his rivals and opportunities might show up. He put his head down, caught his pace and started working on damage recovery but at the end it was just not enough against Letti. The Spaniard crossed the line 2nd and therefore completed the season with P2 on the podium. City Prologue winner Alfredo Gomez was the one who completed the podium for Hixpania Hard Enduro 2022. HEWC championship 3rd position contender Graham Jarvis managed to complete P5 and secured his spot on the season’s overall podium. South African Matt Green became the title winner of the newly introduced Junior Hard Enduro World Champion after a delightful season to remember for himself. The Italian Extreme Enduro fewer continued with Rd3 Headless Rider Extreme Enduro in Teramo, 4-5 June, and the racing weekend kicked off with Prologue. The prologue format was to leave a one-hour window to get as much hot laps as riders wish to get for each classes. Sonny Goggia was the man to set the best time for Sunday’s main race within the one-hour window and here you can watch all his attempts through GoPro POV. It was Gas Gas Official’s Michael Walkner who set the 2nd fastest and Matthew Green 3rd. For the next and the last round of the Italian Extreme Enduro Championship we will go to Vigolzone, Piacenza, on 17-18 September. The Italian Extreme championship heat moved to Teramo for Round 3, Headless Rider Extreme Enduro, past weekend and it was an unreal show with all elements from fans to enthusiast competitors. On Day 2 of racing, it was Sonny Goggia who opened the track for Gold Class. He was followed by his Championship rival Michael Walkner. The two exchanged the lead during the first lap but before it ended the Austrian took the lead. Gas Gas Factory supported Michael Walkner rode a great pace without making any major mistakes and brough the victory home for himself. He continued leading the championship. Privateer and Italy’s own Sonny Goggia put a great effort but it was just not enough to clinch the victory and had to yield for the second position. It was Rigo Racing’s Matt Green who completed the podium for the Round 3. It was a crazy fun racing weekend in the heart of Torricella Sicura and we cannot recommend enough to at least Europeans to be a part of it next year. The championship heat moved to Teramo, Italy, at the Italian Extreme 2022’s for Round 3, Headless Rider Extreme Enduro by Moto Club Falchilaga, and it was a crazy fun weekend for hard enduro fans. Racing weekend started with Day 1’s prologue where all riders took single starts into the forests of Torricella Sicura with a tricky super enduro section at the start. Although the track was bone dry it still offered the extreme fun factor with tricky sections here and there. The championship consists of three classes, Bronze - Silver - Gold, and the Gold Class witnessed a real fight with a lot of talents’ presence including Michael Walkner, Sonny Goggia, Kyle Flanagan, Alessandro Azzalini and Matt Green. The action at the FIM World Hard Enduro Championship moved to Serbia for the Rd 2 Xross Hard Enduro Rally and all the eyes were on Manuel Lettenbichler as the German made his comeback after recovery from the injury. After Day 1’s Straight Rhythm prologue riders lined up for the real deal on Offroad Day 1 where a 100km single track laid through Tara Mountain. Round 1 Minus 400 Desert Extreme winner and championship leader Mario Roman had a bad day of racing due to an early crash he had which then turned out that he broke his toe. The Spaniard kept continuing and did his best and finished the day with P7, ahead of his team mate Wade Young. WHEC title defender Billy Bolt rode with a great pace and grouped with Mani from time to time, finished the day on top. Theodor Kabakchiev was on fire through the day and enjoyed his pace as the Bulgarian played catch with the leading group and hanged there. Theodor finished the day with P2 ahead of the Day’s other surprise Michael Walkner, P3. We had an extreme season opener at the FIM’s World Hard Enduro Championship 2022 Season in Israel’s exotic Dead Sea region. Racing week started with the Urban Race prologue and it is followed with the Super Enduro action in the afternoon. Worlds best hard enduro riders took two hot laps in the Urban Race prologue and the fastest 30 qualified to the super enduro. After three semi-finals 12 riders took the whole shot for the super final. 2021 and 2022 FIM Super Enduro champion Billy Bolt was everyones favourite and he brought the P1 home. Italian Extreme Enduro 2022 season kicked off with Rd 1, Wildwoods Extreme Enduro, at the Pro Park Genova on 23-24 April. The main race was on Sunday and all classes hit their dedicated track seperately. Heavy rain that the region received before and during the racing weekend forced organizers to cancel a number of sectors but still it was one hell of a challenge for everyone. Gold Class took start at 15:00 local and it witnessed a great battle between favorites both local and international. Dominik Olszowy was the early leader of the race but the rough track made it really easy to make simple mistakes. Local hero Sonny Goggia took over the lead and kept it quite a while. Towards the end it was Michael Walkner’s turn and he hung on his pace enough to clinch the Victory. Sonny Goggia came in P2 and Dominik Olszowy P3. Being a beautiful race and a great organization, it attracted a lot of international faces including Michael Walkner, Dominik Olszowy and Matt Green. Racing weekend started with the prologue and each classes took 1h to set the best time for main race starting position. Heavy rain that the region had during past week forced the organizer to cancel a number of sectors but still with iconic riverbeds and hill climbs it was a great action. The last day of Sea to Sky 2021 had its traditional zero altitude mass start at the beach and offered a gnarly route to the ultimate finish line over the clouds on the Mount Olimpos (Lycian). The first row took off at 09:00 AM and Mario Roman led the pack at the first half of the race. His team mate Wade Young got the lead before CP5 and stretched the gap more than four minutes once. Towards the end Mario got his rhythm back and reduced the gap down to one minute at the last check point. From that on to the finish he had Wade in his side from a striking distance and waited for the right moment. At a technical hill climb on the last stretch he gambled ona different line and worked his way to the lead. Mario then got to the chequered flag first by finishing the Mountain Race in 3h26m31s. Because wasn’t able to recover overall damage against his teammate Wade he ended up being P2 on the podium. Apart from the leading Sherco duo, Teodor Kabakchiev had a brilliant day as a privateer and came in P3 with just one minute far from Mario but again it didn’t matter cuz again it was not enough recovered for a podium spot. Travis Teasdale on the other had continued his epic S2S journey with an almost stock 250 and after winning Beach Race he rode enough to get him a place at the last step of the podium along side the Sherco’s duo. ✦ We can't thank enough to our host, Kemer Barut Collection family, for having our crew along with the fellow riders. Sea to Sky Day 3 action Sky Race was fairly run through at lover altitude comparing its debut last year. Due to this track selection we weren’t able to shot the epic frames that we filmed last year with extraterrestrial scenery. Once again Sherco’s South African Wade Young completed the track fastest for the day. He finished it in 1h36m06s. His team mate Mario Roman was only 1m45s behind and he kept the overall P2 with a hope to recover the damage on Mountain Race. Travis Teasdale spent yet another great racing day with his 250 and was ready to push it all for the last day.
