Is this the BEST beginner Back Country spot in Colorado? This was my introduction to backcountry after nearly 20 years of snowboarding at ski resorts. Although a lot of people consider this a pretty nice easier introduction to backcountry it is still important to be as prepared as possible. We made sure to carry a Beacon, Probe and Collapsable Shovel with us as well as checking all the conditions and using all the technology we have at our disposal. 3-21-2020 Loveland Pass, Colorado THIS could be my last day on a snowboard for the 2019/2020 season! If that is the case, I know Mashall will agree with me that this would be one hell of a way to end it! I am not losing hope just yet. The resorts out here sometimes stay open until July, so there is a chance they may reopen. We can also take a trip out west and hike again if we feel the itch to get back on the snowboards. After making this video, the thought definitely doesn't sound like a bad one! We did this long hike around the bowl 3 times together. Each time we were rewarded with fresh tracks almost the whole way down. Pure bliss. These are the kind of days every snowboarder dreams of! The bottom section was very tracked out, but the snow was still great, and that little cliff was a fun one! The homie was kind enough to drive me up and let me do one more half hike before we headed back east. This will go down in history as the weekend after Coronavirus shut down all the ski resorts in America. You can see from all the cars and people at the bottom, that we weren't the only 2 rippers with this idea. Thanks for making this an incredible day Marshall. I appreciate you.
