In this video, I tried to make a reconstruction of Ken Block's snowmobile crash. R.I.P Ken Block :( Jan 3 - The world of motorsport paid tribute to American Ken Block, the professional rally driver whose daring stunts made him an internet sensation, after his death aged 55 in a snowmobile accident. Having begun his rallying career in 2005, Block was named Rookie of the Year in the Rally America Championship. He competed in the World Rally Championship and won several rallycross medals at the X Games. The American also co-founded sportswear company DC Shoes and produced the Gymkhana video series, which featured him driving on dangerous tracks and obstacle courses. The series racked up millions of views on YouTube. Ken Block was snowmobiling near his ranch in Woodland, Utah , on January 2, 2023. A statement from Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office said: “On January 2 2023 at approximately 2:00pm, the Wasatch County 911 Center received a call reporting a snowmobile accident in the Mill Hollow area. According to local reports, Block was riding a snowmobile which flipped and landed on him. He was pronounced dead at the scene by local authorities. He had been riding with others, but was alone at the time. Ken is survived by his wife Lucy and 3 children. Trophy Trucks need to handle some of the most extreme terrain and high speed abuse of any racing racing vehicle on the planet. The suspension set up plays a MASSIVE role in the effectiveness and performance in these trucks. In this episode, we are back in Plaster City, CA to do some shock testing with King Shocks. To aid in our R&D (and because its sick AF) we brought out some high speed cameras, and a shot over gimbal system mounted to a Ford Raptor. What happens when you let a 16 year old race your top spec rally car in their first rally?? In episode 4 of "Whoopocalypse Now", we get my Baja 1000 teammate, Jax Redline prepared to race my Escort Cosworth V2 in his first ever rally at New England Forest Rally. There is a ton of work that goes into preparing for a race like this. We sent Jax to get instruction from the best in the business. First he trained with my co-driver Alex Gelsomino, then Dirtfish rally school, and finally a multiple day program at Team O'Neil rally school. Jax did exceptionally well during the first day of the race, making his way up the leaderboard and rounding out the day 7th on the road. Unfortunately, an off on day 2 led to a gearbox issue that would put him out of the race. But hey....THATS RALLY. New England Forest Rally is arguably one of the most notorious stage rallies on the ARA circuit. It features very demanding, fast technical stages that wind through Maine and New Hampshire. Ken and Alex have have seen success at this rally, winning in 2013. They have also had their fair share of troubles here, with roll over crashes and the loss of the Cossie v1 in a fire in 2018. It’s Concord pond stage is the most infamous stage of the event. It features multiple flat out in 6th gear jumps that guarantee a spectacle for the crowds of rally fans. We're back with another installment of Ken Block's Raw Onboard Footage, this time from Southern Ohio Forest Rally during SS13 - "Diagon Alley". Early in the race, Ken and co-driver Alex Gelsomino took the lead putting down the quickest time on the first stage. They continued their pace into the second stage but luck would soon run out. The boys unfortunately went wide on the exit of a turn and hit a stump, breaking the right rear suspension. The team was able to fix the car overnight and get the boys back on the road for the second day of stages, albeit with a 17-minute penalty, setting them back to 64th position. Ken and Alex used this as an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new Subaru WRX STI and test some different setups in the car - which judging by the onboard footage, paid off. Ken Block returns to The Rally in the 100 Acre Wood in an attempt to capture his 8th win at the event. In this race we see Ken piloting a Skoda Fabia R5+, set up for the ARA's 04WD class. With very little seat time in this unfamiliar chassis, he faces stiff competition by the likes of Travis Pastrana piloting his factory backed Subaru WRX STI and Barry McKenna in a Ford Fiesta WRC.
