You would never guess that inside Ged’s garden shed he’s restoring wood trim and veneer for some of the most iconic classic British cars. Ged and his son Daniel have re-veneered Sir William Lyon’s Jaguar XJ6 and even worked on cars for members of the royal family. There are only four or five people that do this type of specialist work in the UK and few people know how involved the process can be. In this instalment of Handcrafted, Ged and Daniel are restoring a clock binnacle from a Jaguar Mk2. Watch as they transform this aging wood component to its former glory.
