It's every Hoonigan's favorite part of a new project car: tearing into a perfectly good, working vehicle and cutting it to pieces with the boys! The clutch on our HPD IndyCar engine is only meant for a chassis that weighs around 1600lb, so our 4500lb Ridgeline needs to go on a serious diet if this project is going to go anywhere. Suppy and Team 69 rip out the engine, interior, and, well, pretty much everything else. Back to work on the Honda IndyTruck by Hoonigan! Suppy and the rest of Team 69 had a lot to do after gutting the Ridgeline last time. First, we had our buddy David come out to 3D scan the Ridgeline as well as a 2020 NSX that Ron borrowed. With that data, Alex was able to design and build a custom subframe while Angelo & Trevor got the roll cage mocked up and Jameson focused on engine mounts. This is a brief look at what my 2022 has looked like so far. My driving duties came to a halt after 2021 reached a climax at the SKUSA SuperNationals, and since then I've been slowly working towards being able to race again. I went to the SKUSA Winter Series as a mechanic for Alex Dancho, the first two rounds of USPKS as a mechanic for Max Taylor, and to Challenge of the Americas as a coach for Christian Bird Racing. During the early stages of the year, I spent much of my time preparing to race at the opening USPKS weekend at Orlando Kart Center, only for some unfortunate circumstances to eliminate those plans merely three days before I was due to travel to Orlando. I still went to the race, albeit as a mechanic, but it was a heart-wrenching turn of events and was the low point of the year so far. Since then, however, things have been on an upward trend and I'm hopeful that a return to the national scene as a driver will be on the cards fairly soon.
