As our new boat is almost ready, it's sparked a gleam of hope and creation back into my heart. Starting with a back up of old footage that hasn't see the light of day yet.

So enjoy this little trip we did before selling our beloved old 19 ft Carribean half cab that served us so well over a number of years.
I just love hooking up a good Kingfish, they are worth their weight in gold.</a>

Sorry it's been a while since uploading anything. We have a deadline to get the house build finished (eta February 2021) so there has been no time for fishing unfortunately.
I'm mega stoked with this catch though, 70cm of Dusky Flathead in the Gold Coast estuary system on a Zman midnight oil curl tail soft plastic. That's my PB flathead not to mention netting a big fish like this is hard enough by myself.

The mighty Fitzroy River runs through the heart of town and veins of the coral sea inject into the vast landscape creating a haven for estuary fish to flourish.
Fresh and saltwater fishing opportunities are waiting to be explored in this amazing region.

Check out the Advance Rockhampton web page to find out more information on the region before you come and visit.

It was too hard to micro jig or bottom fish so we went looking for surface dwellers or pelagics like the Mahi Mahi.
Caught ourselves a good feed for the days work.</a>

The Mackerel were still around too so I was also trolling a hard body for one of them as well.
After a bit of searching and persistence I finally found what I was looking for.
This is a milestone fish for me, especially catching it all by myself. I love solo missions and spending time on the water.

		Copeton Dam

<a href="https://www.gnarpowpow.com/videos/14315/copeton-dam/"><img src="https://www.gnarpowpow.com/contents/videos_screenshots/14000/14315/320x180/1.jpg" border="0"><br>Copeton Dam is located around about 6 hours drive south west from my place on the Gold Coast.
It's amazing the temperature difference between home and there. It was still summer when we visited the dam and yet it was cold enough to have to wear our warm coats in the mornings.
We were targeting Murray Cod and Yellow Belly as a bi-catch, too.
Unfortunately, nothing was biting the lures we were throwing. We are still very new to chasing Murray cod and so we have not yet got the hang of it, just like most of our fishing expeditions.
Copeton is such a beautiful dam to explore especially now that they have had a tiny bit of rain to green everything up a little.
Last time I was there in August 2019 the dam was at 8% during the thick of the drought. The dam level was at 14% during this video, shot in mid March 2020.
I hope you still enjoyed this video even though there was no fish caught.

I just happened to hook something amazing as well. This is the biggest Pearl Perch I've ever caught at 64 cm. I was happy to release this magnificent fish back in to the ocean so it could continue breeding.
Thanks for watching everyone.

Apparently, the Saratoga were still brooding young in their mouths so I was lucky to have caught the stonker I did.
Lake Borumba is situated west of Noosa Heads, Sunshine Coast, Queensland Australia.

The resort has kayaks and fishing gear for the guests to use while they stay with them and seem as our gear was already packed away in the rod tube we decided to have a little fun before we had to head home.
Nothing special, just us having fun in the kayak one last time. Vlog style....

I want to say a special thank you to Ocean Blue and Trees and Fishes for hosting us on this trip. Jump on this link to check them out.
