The final round of the 2022 Hard Enduro World Championship was bound to be a close fight at Hixpania between the defending champ Manuel Lettenbichler and the home hero Mario Roman. After Day 1’s City Prologue and Day 2’s Campoo Xtreme Mani managed to reserve the front row for final action, Lost Roads. From start to finish he controlled everything and stayed away doing major mistakes which would have put a tragic end to his almost flawless season. At the end of the day, The German rightfully defended his title and became a 3rd time champion of the world. Mario, with just 4 pts behind Letti, was full of hopes at the start of the week but the opening days didn’t turn out to favour him. He still had a 2h30m extremely hard course to cover as well as his rivals and opportunities might show up. He put his head down, caught his pace and started working on damage recovery but at the end it was just not enough against Letti. The Spaniard crossed the line 2nd and therefore completed the season with P2 on the podium. City Prologue winner Alfredo Gomez was the one who completed the podium for Hixpania Hard Enduro 2022. HEWC championship 3rd position contender Graham Jarvis managed to complete P5 and secured his spot on the season’s overall podium. South African Matt Green became the title winner of the newly introduced Junior Hard Enduro World Champion after a delightful season to remember for himself. It all came down to a final show at the Hixpania Hard Enduro 2022 to decide who was going to be the Champion of the World for Hard Enduro World Championship 2022 season. The title fight between Mario Roman and Manuel Lettenbichler got fierce as we went along with the calendar and it is only a mere 4 points lead that favours the defending German, 1- Letti 107pts 2 – Roman 103pts. By having a better resume at the Spanish challenge, Mario knew he could make the difference and use the home crowd advantage for a final push. The 3-day challenge started with the city prologue where Alfredo Gomez got the P1. Then we jumped into Day 2’s Campoo Xtreme where the story was a bit tragic. Lattenbichler had an amazing day and cleared almost 10minutes to the closest rival and therefore brought the P1 home but later on he was penalized for speeding. After this Trystan Hart found himself as the day’s winner. Day 3’s Lost Roads was laid before all the elements of hard enduro and the iconic Le Mans style start wasn’t there but the 2h30m show started anyway. Manuel Lettenbichler controlled the whole race from start to finish and claimed the Hard Enduro World Championship by winning his 6th race of the season. Mario was sturdy all the way and pushed hard it was just not enough for the day, he came home with a P2 both at the race and the HEWC standings. It was Alfredo Gomez who completed the podium for the year. Graham Jarvis secured his Bronze medal for the season by coming in P5 at the Hixpania 2022. Hixpania Hard Enduro was also the last round of the newly introduced Junior Hard Enduro World Championship, 4 European Rounds out of the HEWC calendar, and the man who triumphed it was Matthew Green from South Africa. After two days of intense racing Hixpania 2021 of the FIM’s World Hard Enduro Championship was set for the final action of the racing weekend, The Lost Way, on Day3. Le Mans style start was a piece to watch as GasGas Factory rider Michael Walkner’s fall triggered a chain of chaos till all got out of the cave. Once they were out it was pure hard enduro recital. The rain expectancy forced the organizing body to cancel a couple sectors in the loop but it still was a brutal challenge for both riders and their rides. The Lost Way’s story written slightly different from the previous two days and the genius behind that was Alfredo Gomes. Spaniard had a flawless day on the course and was really good at picking the back markers as lapping started. Lapping the backmarkers quickly played a great role as much as riding without any mistake. The championship leading duo, Billy Bolt and Manuel Lettenbichler, was behind. They were within second in the first half but then Billy Bolt charged a strong strike for the win. British man started pushing when the gap between him and Alfreda was over 4 minutes and he managed to drop it below 1 minute as we got close to the finish line. He than made an unfortunate mistake at an easy hill climb which cost him not only time but energy. After two hours of racing the legendary last sector opened for Caballeros to conquer the hills. It was Alfredo Gomez who entered the first and passed it without any mistake. Spaniard won the race which felt great and very emotional as he stated in his post-race comments. Billy Bolt came in second and his title rival Manuel Lettenbichler third. The action at the FIM’s World Hard Enduro Championship moved to Spain for round 7, Hixpania Hard Enduro 2021, where we enjoyed the unlimited dirt bike skills of the best riders especially at the Day 2 action Campoo X-treme. The tight 2021 season title fight between Billy Bolt and the defending champion Manuel Lettenbichler made Hixpania even more exciting. Bolt started his racing weekend with a P1 at Day 1’s brief prologue where Lettenbichler felt a couple rows behind, P8. Since Day 2 kicked off with a mass start the damage left from Day 1 wasn’t a big issue for the German. The Campoo X-treme was exclusively a fight between Bolt and Lettenbichler from start to finish. The championship leading duo was on another level where they stretched the gap with 3rd runner more than 12 minutes. Billy Bolt finished the day on top by completing it in 4h22m20s, just 8s clear from the P2 finisher Manuel Lettenbichler. Jonny Walker completed the top 3 with reaching the chequered flag more than 12 minutes behind Bolt. Worlds best Hard Enduro riders headed to Hixpania after Erzberg Rodeo for the 4th round of iRide WESS 2019 in search of championship points. The race was a 3 days competition for all 4 categories (Knights, Arqieros, Squires and Hixpanos). This very footage was from day 2, The Lost Way. Charlie Frost (UK) was one of the Knights contenders for team Eurotek.
