Backcountry Life Crew go Heliboarding with PowderBirds Heli Skiing. SHOP SNOWBOARD GEAR HERE: http://proboarder-style.com/sbuq I hope you enjoy the footage. Utah has been getting hammered with snow this year which has made for a solid snowpack. The Backcountry life Crew decided to book a Heliboarding PowderBirds trip for March of 2019. We arrived to a blue bird day with fresh snow. The avalanche danger had been extremely high so we weren't sure how the day was going to progress. The morning brought us a solid breakfast and a Avalanche, beacon, and helicopter training. This is pretty much the same training you get at every Heli outfit. Some actually go into a more in-depth beacon /recovery training. Powderbirds Heli Skiing gets you setup with 2 guides and you ride in a group of 8. The lead Powderbird Guide will ride down first testing the snow and guiding you down the safest routes. The guide in the back makes sure everyone makes it down safe. Luckily for us the snowpack avalanche danger was lower and we got to snowboard the steepest stuff that Powderbirds Heliskiing has to offer. The day was bluebird most of the day and we had fresh powder the entire day. We got 5 runs in with Powderbirds heliboarding and they typically get 6 but a front blew in and socked in all the mountains so the pilots wanted to be safe and cut the day short. Once back at the Powderbirds Skiing headquarters between Snowbird ski resort and Alta Ski resort we had a solid lunch and chatted with our guides. It was a really fun day and the crew at Powderbird Heli Skiing are top notch. We highly recommend it.
