World of hard enduro lost one of its iconic challenges, UK’s The Tough One, as it was organized for the last time where David Knight represented the past and Billy Bolt the future. The dirt bike heroes from all over the country showed up for a taste of mud and Tough One made sure that they had it properly. Nantmawr Quarry was not wet or snowy but still mud was inevitable as well as failing. The two-day event featured different challenges for different classes but the main event took place on Sunday afternoon, 28th of November 2021. This is the editor cut of the fails. Hard Enduro World Champion Billy Bolt won the final ever the Tough One 2021 ahead of David Knight and Mitch Brightmore. The Tough One 2021 witnessed a unique racing moment with FIM World Hard Enduro Champion Billy Bolt and David Knight MBE lined up for the trophy at the Nantmawr Quarry - United Kingdom. Charlie Frost was kind enough to wear our GoPro to get you this excellent racing content to enjoy. Unlike his normal 300 2T bike setup he had to borrow his brother’s 350 4T and that had an effect for sure. Charlie came in P6 in the end and this is his second lap into the race. Charlie’s Post race comment; “Unfortunately, I am without a Gas Gas at the moment due to unavailability of them so borrowed my brothers 350 4T for the Tough One- obviously not the desired choice of weapon for the event but better than nothing. It wasn’t the easiest of bikes to try and man handle around the course- with it being a 4 stroke it wanted to stall on the technical sections which made life hard for me, but I struggled on for a 6th place Pro class finish. Wasn’t my finest riding and felt capable of a higher position finishing but the bike held me back. Never the less it was a fun atmosphere and a great race thanks to Steve Ireland and the WOR Events team.” After 2h battle in and around the quarry Billy Bolt claimed the victory although he had to enter the race with a sore arm left from recent injury he had. World’s most talented Extreme Enduro riders showed up at the Getzen Rodeo 2021 for the first ever FIM World Hard Enduro Championship’s closure. The one-day Bavarian hard enduro action started with a 2h Getzen Race qualification in the morning. Fastest 15 of which to be competing at the afternoon’s party piece, Getzen Champ. Getzen Champ was expected to be season’s peak excitement and it met the expectation very spectacularly. The title fight between Manuel Lettenbichler and Billy Bolt was tight and because Mani had the qualification advantage Bolt needed to be very careful. Early in the race it was all looking bright for Billy Bolt but following a couple of mistakes he found himself in P6 during the halfway into the race. GetzenRodeo is always known for its extreme taste and hard lines no matter who you are. Racing at the GetzenRodeo consists of two events. 1st 2h GetzenRace in the morning and then 80m plus 1 lap GetzenChamp. They are all at the same track but you get it in reverse at the GetzenChamp. This year’s event was the final round of the first ever FIM World Hard Enduro Championship and witnessed a tight battle between Manuel Lettenbichler and Billy Bolt. The attention of the dirt bike community was focused to FIM World Hard Enduro Championship’s final round for GetzenRodeo 2021 for a title showcase and an epic closure to the year. Since the points were really close the heat and the tension was rocket high. The championship leading duo, Billy Bolt and Manuel Lettenbichler, was in search of a title here in the last round, Getzen Rodeo. During the 2h Getzen Race the pack roared into the wood upon on of the most unique race start, a cannon fire. All riders seemed fit and comfortable but again it went just between Bolt and Lettenbichler. The two were neck and neck from start to finish and it was won by Lettenbichler by a nose. 15 of the 58 riders qualified for the Getzen champ which was to take place for 80mins plus 1 lap which also includes Red Bull X Loop. After two days of intense racing Hixpania 2021 of the FIM’s World Hard Enduro Championship was set for the final action of the racing weekend, The Lost Way, on Day3. Le Mans style start was a piece to watch as GasGas Factory rider Michael Walkner’s fall triggered a chain of chaos till all got out of the cave. Once they were out it was pure hard enduro recital. The rain expectancy forced the organizing body to cancel a couple sectors in the loop but it still was a brutal challenge for both riders and their rides. The Lost Way’s story written slightly different from the previous two days and the genius behind that was Alfredo Gomes. Spaniard had a flawless day on the course and was really good at picking the back markers as lapping started. Lapping the backmarkers quickly played a great role as much as riding without any mistake. The championship leading duo, Billy Bolt and Manuel Lettenbichler, was behind. They were within second in the first half but then Billy Bolt charged a strong strike for the win. British man started pushing when the gap between him and Alfreda was over 4 minutes and he managed to drop it below 1 minute as we got close to the finish line. He than made an unfortunate mistake at an easy hill climb which cost him not only time but energy. After two hours of racing the legendary last sector opened for Caballeros to conquer the hills. It was Alfredo Gomez who entered the first and passed it without any mistake. Spaniard won the race which felt great and very emotional as he stated in his post-race comments. Billy Bolt came in second and his title rival Manuel Lettenbichler third. The action at the FIM’s World Hard Enduro Championship moved to Spain for round 7, Hixpania Hard Enduro 2021, where we enjoyed the unlimited dirt bike skills of the best riders especially at the Day 2 action Campoo X-treme. The tight 2021 season title fight between Billy Bolt and the defending champion Manuel Lettenbichler made Hixpania even more exciting. Bolt started his racing weekend with a P1 at Day 1’s brief prologue where Lettenbichler felt a couple rows behind, P8. Since Day 2 kicked off with a mass start the damage left from Day 1 wasn’t a big issue for the German. The Campoo X-treme was exclusively a fight between Bolt and Lettenbichler from start to finish. The championship leading duo was on another level where they stretched the gap with 3rd runner more than 12 minutes. Billy Bolt finished the day on top by completing it in 4h22m20s, just 8s clear from the P2 finisher Manuel Lettenbichler. Jonny Walker completed the top 3 with reaching the chequered flag more than 12 minutes behind Bolt. The last day of Sea to Sky 2021 had its traditional zero altitude mass start at the beach and offered a gnarly route to the ultimate finish line over the clouds on the Mount Olimpos (Lycian). The first row took off at 09:00 AM and Mario Roman led the pack at the first half of the race. His team mate Wade Young got the lead before CP5 and stretched the gap more than four minutes once. Towards the end Mario got his rhythm back and reduced the gap down to one minute at the last check point. From that on to the finish he had Wade in his side from a striking distance and waited for the right moment. At a technical hill climb on the last stretch he gambled ona different line and worked his way to the lead. Mario then got to the chequered flag first by finishing the Mountain Race in 3h26m31s. Because wasn’t able to recover overall damage against his teammate Wade he ended up being P2 on the podium. Apart from the leading Sherco duo, Teodor Kabakchiev had a brilliant day as a privateer and came in P3 with just one minute far from Mario but again it didn’t matter cuz again it was not enough recovered for a podium spot. Travis Teasdale on the other had continued his epic S2S journey with an almost stock 250 and after winning Beach Race he rode enough to get him a place at the last step of the podium along side the Sherco’s duo. ✦ We can't thank enough to our host, Kemer Barut Collection family, for having our crew along with the fellow riders. Sea to Sky Day 3 action Sky Race was fairly run through at lover altitude comparing its debut last year. Due to this track selection we weren’t able to shot the epic frames that we filmed last year with extraterrestrial scenery. Once again Sherco’s South African Wade Young completed the track fastest for the day. He finished it in 1h36m06s. His team mate Mario Roman was only 1m45s behind and he kept the overall P2 with a hope to recover the damage on Mountain Race. Travis Teasdale spent yet another great racing day with his 250 and was ready to push it all for the last day. 12th Edition of the Mediterranean hard enduro challenge Sea to Sky 2021 continued with Forest Race where the actual competition started heating up as riders get their time collected for the trophy. After a surprise podium we had on Day 1’s Beach Race, Travis opened the way into the Taurus mountains for Forest Race. Being out of the Beach Race podium, Sherco Factory duo Mario Roman and Wade Young were expected to get their rhythm going and they did so. It was Wade who completed the course fastest by reaching to the chequered flag in 1h43m09s. Mario came in P2 (+56s) an Travis P3 (1m51s). Sea to Sky 2021 started with the Beach Race challenge where the fastest 150 from the prologue hit the track 50 pax at a time. After 20 minutes and an extra lap we got a complete surprise podium which was great to see. Travis Teasdale made history by winning the challenge with an almost stock 250. Teodor Kabakchiev came in P2 and Matthew Green P3. We would like to share time differences and lap times but unfortunately it is still not available to anyone.
