So the view of the waterfalls is better on the Canadian side so that is where we decided to stay. After flying into Buffalo New York it is just a short drive over the border to Niagara Falls. There are lots of dining and entertainment options in the area. Clifton Hill is the area with the Ferris Wheel, Mini Golf, Arcades, and lots of bars and restaurants. The boat we took up to horseshoe falls was called the Hornblaster. It was $25 a person, which is totally worth it. You get right up in the mist water churning underneath as you get rained on by massive amounts of swirling mist clouds spurred by the 167 foot drop. Many of the high rise hotels have an excellent view of the falls. Apparently it’s a layer of “Apple Red” over a “Satin Black” that leads to this DEEP pearly paint that looks like it’s soaking wet!
