Solo mission out the seaway off the Gold Coast in search of Mulloway or otherwise known as a Jewie, Jewfish. The Mackerel were still around too so I was also trolling a hard body for one of them as well. After a bit of searching and persistence I finally found what I was looking for. This is a milestone fish for me, especially catching it all by myself. I love solo missions and spending time on the water. I wanted to share a fun day on the water with you all. I just happened to hook something amazing as well. This is the biggest Pearl Perch I've ever caught at 64 cm. I was happy to release this magnificent fish back in to the ocean so it could continue breeding. It's time for a cleanup, there is an invasive fish species in our Australian waterways. Tilapia are native to warm, fresh, and brackish waters of Africa, South and Central America, southern India, and Sri Lanka. They were introduced into Australia as an ornamental fish in 1960 and have since become a pest in our waterways. These mouth breeding fish are overtaking the homes of our native fish such as the Australian Bass. Big fines apply if you don't dispose of the captured Tilapia properly. This was a once in a lifetime catch! The day started slow and ended with a bang! ↓↓more info↓↓ This was a fluke catch where I had a small Dolphin fish hooked up to my skirted lure and this big bull came charging through and head-butted the line. The line was then sliced through his forehead and with tension from the small fish he was unable to swim free of the line.
