Gas Gas and WP Suspension teamed up with Enduro Life Media to support Travis Teasdale’s Sea to Sky 2022 adventure. Being a privateer and coming all the way from South Africa, it is an expensive journey for any privateer to compete in such an organization. In 2021 we gave one of our own stock Gas Gas EC 250 to Travis and he made history with it. South African won the Beach Race and became overall P3 with a 250. This year we decided to gave him a better bike and brought the idea to Gas Gas and WP officials. They loved the idea and jumped right in with the project. We were able to convert our 2023 stock EC 250 into an EC 300 Factory Replica with all the necessary parts that are provided by Gas Gas Official and WP Suspension. We briefly put a sequence from the built period into this one but a detailed one will be published soon. Travis started to his racing week with a P1 at the Beach Race prologue on Day 1 and jumped into the finals in the afternoon. The finals didn’t start as he planned, with a bit of starting order chaos, but he then quickly recovered all the way up to 2nd in lap 3. The rock garden was a bit too technical for the backmarkers and lapping them wasn’t easy. He got stuck several times there and finished P8 in the end. On Day 2 he lined up for the Forest Race through the Taurus Mountains. After having a fast and flowing day Travis came home with P3. Day 3 featured the Sky Race for all the challengers. After nearly two hours of racing Travis got his best ever result of the week, P1, but the margins were so close, he was still 3rd overall before the main Mountain Race on Day 4. After the whole-shot at the beach, Travis got the lead and guided the pack into the riverbed. For the better part of the early stages into the last day he was keeping up with the leading pack but then overall P4 contender David Cyprian managed to gap further till the end. After nearly 4 hours of racing Travis reached to the finish line with P4, Day 4 and overall. Every dirt bike enthusiast must have dreamed of getting a 2 stroke supermoto at some point of their lives just as we had. We finally had time early this year and kicked off our “The Dream Retirement” project. When Gas Gas unveiled their first EC line under KTM group back in 2020 we purchased one and filmed and unboxing & review video. Because it was going to shine on the street, we upgraded engine with 300 kit and used or 2023 bike as the organ donor. Scratched bits such as swing arm and fuel tank.
