You will want to make sure you are comfortable hitting medium to large sized jumps, as well as spinning frontside 360's and doing both frontside and backside shifty's in the same jump. Once you're comfortable with these skills you will be able to focus completely on poking out your shifty's and nothing else while you are in the air. To do the shifty-shifty you'll want to poke a frontside shifty first, then your backside shifty, spot your landing, and then finish your rotation to ride away straight down the landing. Once you try this trick you will find that the spin comes around quite naturally, and you really can just focus on poking out the shifty-shifty.
