Today I’m aiming to break the WORLD RECORD lap-time for an all-electric production car with a snowboard roof pod around Laguna Seca, haha! All jokes aside, I’m taking my brand new Audi RS e-tron GT (that I daily drive) for some lap-time testing. For science…? Yeah, for science. It’s amazing how capable this car is straight off the production line, so let’s put it to the test at one of the most prestigious race tracks in the world. We already know the Audi RS e-tron GT is the fastest RS badged production car on earth, but how fast is that?? Lets throw on our scumbag lab-coats (really really nice Hoonigan jackets) and run a few tests! The e-tron GT producing 637 horsepower and 612 torque INSTANTLY, so I think we should find out how it does from 0-60mph, 0-100mph-0, AND 0-33mph in REVERSE (for science). What's the fun in doing all this testing alone though? This time around I get the whole production crew involved to see how they feel about EV power. More science, more better..? I can’t have a 637hp all-electric Audi RS e-tron GT for a daily driver and NOT find out if it can slide, right?? Let’s find out if the brand new e-tron GT can handle some of the things that I love to do most in cars: donuts, figure 8s and BIG slides! It wears the RS badge for a reason, so it’s safe to say I had a solid day of tire slaying. EV power is no joke, the e-tron is not nice to tires which is just another reason why I love it. The future of Gymkhana has arrived! Introducing my brand new Audi S1 e-tron quattro Hoonitron! Brian and I take a quick trip to Audi’s Design Center in Ingolstadt, Germany to see my 1 of 1 Gymkhana Prototype. It's wild that Audi was able to condense a one year build process from the drawing boards to reality in only four weeks! The all-electric Hoonitron is essentially a fully modernized version of one of my favorite race cars, the legendary Group B Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2, so I'm extremely excited for this. All that's left now is to patiently wait for my opportunity to Hoon it.
